If you need to get some organization into your documents, the standard version of PaperPort 12 can help. The scanning and management features are top-notch, though the program is less effective than Adobe Acrobat X and Abbyy FineReader 10 Professional at recreating complex documents as searchable files (it doesn't create editable files). Otherwise the OCR works great and for most users, is more than adequate. PaperPort standard lacks some of the advanced features such as PDF password protection and integration with SharePoint.
