If you PC is acting up, the first step is always to isolate the problem. Although System Analyser does provide diagnostic information about your PC's hardware, it's frankly a bit of a throwback. For one thing, the program lacks its own installer and launches somewhat unceremoniously by opening a DOS window. Clumsy as this may seem, it actually might have merit, since you can run the program when before Windows boots. But "might" is the operative word there, because the truth is that System Analyser just isn't that special. In fact, much of the information System Analyser offers is available in Windows 2000, not to mention XP. If you're looking for a good diagnostic utility, you're much better off with Dr. Hardware or the recently released SANDRA 2006 Lite. If, however, you're into the retro thing or feel an unquenchable compulsion to see a DOS prompt, definitely give System Analyser a try.
