Like it or not, no single piece of anti-spyware can detect and eradicate all spyware. That means your favorite anti-malware software may not be able to fully protect you.

In fact, even multiple ones may not be able to protect you. If you suspect you've been victimized by spyware, but no software has been able to track down the source of the trouble, give the free HijackThis a try.

It does a thorough analysis of your Registry and file settings, and creates a log file. If you've been infected by spyware, you'll find a clue in that file. If you're an expert, you can analyze the log yourself to try and track down the problem. If not, you can upload your log file to a HijackThis Web site, and ask that the community analyze it for you.

Note that unless you're an expert, you should not try and use this tool to fix any problems. Instead, just use it to generate a log file, upload that file, and see what the experts have to say.
