Strengths: Handles a wide variety of filetypes and resolutions. The drop and drag interface is useful when you want to resize a bunch of videos. For example, we are going on a trip my son will give me a list of videos he would like to watch. I can drop and drag the hi-definition files into the converter to downsample to low resolutions in much less time that it takes to add files one at a time in other programs.
Weaknesses: Very limited options, does not extract movies from DVD's. You still need to use something like DVD Shrink to extract your titles from the dvd's before the converter will correctly convert them. You can not run Divx plus converter at the same time as another program such as avinet is accessing the divx codec.
Overall Evaluation: DixX Plus is cheap, and you get what you pay for. There are plenty of free programs that work better for particular tasks, but Divx plus is a good tool for videos that just won't seem to convert correctly with your primary program of choice.
