    Duration of ownership: 1 Months

    Strengths: None

Weaknesses: Does not load all updated drivers, some drivers are in compressed format and extremely difficult to unpack and load. Even after downlaoding all updated drivers the scan continued to identify programs as needing updated drivers, was not able to find needed drivers to fix hardware problems, i.e. AC97 realtek driver for integrated soundcard.

Overall Evaluation: Very poor and totally unsatisfactory customer service. Emailed company 3 times requesting suggestions and or a refund and have yet to hear anything back. As stated earlier, if you dare purchase this program DO NOT GO THROUGH PAYPAL. I wish I had reseached this software and/or company earlier, but behind sight is 20/20. I highly recommend that you DO NOT Purchase this program. Other software companies who solicit this software should be ashamed of themselves, the "free program" is a total scam and plants malware on your computer reflecting a serious need to purchase this software. HIGHLY recommend that you pass this information on as widely as possible!!!

Strengths: NONE! Support stinks, no response to requests for refunds

Weaknesses: It is poorly designed and doesn't work. For some reason you can't give administrator rights to this program (not that you would want to) It lacks the permission to write to it's own default download directory, so be ready to create your own download directory outside of Windows protected directories. I haven't had this problem with any other software. I'm sure I could find many other weaknesses if I wanted to take the chance of testing it on my PC. The internet is full of bad reviews of this software which complain of it having badly effected their system, other programs, etc. For me, the program not working ends the test.

Overall Evaluation: The product is poor, but it's the company that's the real problem. They're not competent or honest. A competent company reads the support emails, and doesn't just you links to tutorial videos when that is not your problem. An honest company gives you a refund if they use the word "guaranteed". An honest company doesn't plaster the word "FREE" all over the internet when in fact it is not free. It doesn't try to scare the hell out of potential users by finding a host of "problems" that they can fix if only you send them money. I don't fall for scare tactics, but I know I have some driver issues. Since scaring up drivers for free on the internet can take hours or days, and because the idea of a software scan of installed drivers and downloading the correct driver is so practical and do-able, I decided to take a chance. I'm not sorry that I took a chance, but I am sorry that I took that chance on Driver Detective. P.S. If you buy this or any other software on the internet, use your credit card, not PAYPAL. Paypal will not give you a refund on software purchases. You will have better recourse if you use a credit card. Credit Card companies are bound by Federal law to take action on complaints, and those actions usually favor the cardholder

    Duration of ownership: 1 Days

    Strengths: Absoultely none!

Weaknesses: My search for a replacement for my corrupted CD driver on PCWorld, this product came up. I tried the "free" download, but it indicated that for a fee of well under $10.00, I could have free downloads for several months, so I bought it (paying through PayPal), and downloaded it. It scanned my computer, correctly identified my CD drive, and indicated it had downloaded and corrected the problem. But it had not, NO CD drive shows up on either my Windows Explorer or Control Panel (even after several re-boots). BUT, the worst part was, when I received my PayPal notice, I was billed for $39.90! NOT the original much less amount I originally "clicked" on. Also, I've tried to return to that "special offer" page, with no results.

Overall Evaluation: Looks like a scam to me!

Weaknesses: Tries to install drivers older that what is loaded - does ask VG. Reports 10 drivers needs updating, run things down to three and then back up to 10. Downloads do not always run. Do not reply to questions

Overall Evaluation: Save your money and do not buy

Strengths: Easy to use - gives a quick status on the system drivers and devices not working.

Weaknesses: Downloaded drivers cannot be trusted.

Overall Evaluation: Not worth the money. Without Kaspersky keeping an eye on what was going on, I would have loaded an 'Invader' virus with my Epson R800 driver. You are better off not shelling out any money. Use the product to identify problems and go to reliable sites for your drivers. Do NOT these download drivers without a good security system in place.

    Strengths: /

Weaknesses: Recommended me wrong drivers for my audiocard, videocard and even gave me drivers for AMD64bit systems while I have Intel32bits, all of which caused serious trouble. I contacted customer support several times for this issue, but they DID NOT ANSWER. So next to a product that does not work as is described, they do not offer customer support as promised.

Overall Evaluation: I strongly recommend you to NOT buy this product.
