Overall Evaluation: I was re-installing Windows on my main pc and had forgotten my 500gb USB drive was still plugged in. When it got to the stage of deleting old partitions I accidentally deleted the one on the external HDD - did I panic!! Everything is on there - work files, family photos, music, films etc, etc. I had almost resolved to having lost everything when I found Virtual Lab Data Recovery and in a couple of hours of downloading ALL was back in place with no loss whatsoever.

Other top (apparently) softwares were much worse in that field, almost none or not even half of the structure found.

Overall Evaluation: $335 for hard drive recovery. I was erroneously told that my order was complete before it actually was, so when I went to pick it up I left empty-handed. However, the company was very apologetic and sent my stuff over to my office when it was finished. Of course some important files were still missing but they said otherwise. A colleague of mine told me about Virtual Lab Data Recovery, which is much less than what computer shops charge for a recovery, and after I got it off the internet, installed it in a couple of minutes, it scanned my hard drive and won't you know it, my missing files were found.

Overall Evaluation: I just had to take this time to thank you for your lifesaving program VirtualLab Data Recovery. Last night I backed up my laptop so that I could reinstall Windows. When the computer restarted I forgot to unplug my USB back up drive so when the Windows installation began, I came to the partition screen and without thinking deleted my USB drive by accident! I was worried that I would have to pay over $300 to take it in and fix it. I went online and searched "recover" programs, installed and tested about 3 and none of them worked. I then went back and found your product. I downloaded the trial version to see if it would even find my USB drive since the other 3 programs didn't help. As soon as I downloaded VirtualLab Data Recovery, and started the program it found ALL, yes ALL my files. I then paid for the program and was able to recover EVERY SINGLE FILE

Overall Evaluation: I purchased VirtualLab Data Recoveryon after my computer crashed and started smoking. This HP desktop computer was less than one year old. I did not think to backup my pictures, tax files, and important data (I know better now). Well the system formatted the hard drive by itself and started working again. Needless to say, all of my family pictures vacations, daughtersâ prom, pageant etc.. was gone. Hp wanted me to send in my computer for service but, I knew that if I send them the computer with the hard drive they might not return it or re-format the drive with all of my important information on it. So I pleaded and negotiated with them to let me remove my hard drive and then send in my computer for service. Well I couldn't be happier when most of my pictures were recovered. Most services charge you $500.00 plus to recover your files. This was the best and most rewarding $ 39.95 I spent in a long time. Thank you for your great software. Overall Evaluation: I am a freelance Graphic Designer and Web Developer. I was using a Western Digital External fire-wire HD, to store all of my Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Fireworks, Flash, Dream-weaver, as well as all of our business documents, ie Word, Excel, Access, etc. On Friday, I lost the entire drive, and all of the contents. I am talking about over 130 Gb of information. I could not sleep and worked on the drive for over 34 hours. I downloaded VirtualLab Data Recovery on Saturday, and it absolutely 100% recovered all of the data from the hard drive. The MBR was corrupt, and I even formatted the drive, but your program still found 100% of the data, I assumed our business would have otherwise lost. At one point, I was going to take the drive to a data recovery specialist, but your program, literally saved my partner and I from suffering a loss of our invaluable data and personal files.

Overall Evaluation: As you know, I have just purchased my copy of VirtualLab Data Recovery. It has been recommended to me by a friend who is a computer technician. I have lost a partition as I am not very smart in all that computer stuff and I too often act before thinking in the computer stuff. Your software has recovered all my files in the sector mode search on an unreadable dynamic volume -as described by windows, which had two partitions with important data throughout the years. I have made a hasty movement and in a windows XP instalator I saw an unpartitioned 20GB space and a dynamic volume. I made a partition of that 20GB, but it was added to the dynamic volume, and in windows other two partitions discontinued to be visible on the only computer that has seen them so far !! My legs got soft. And here you guys came to recover all my critical data ;-) Your software is definitely worth every single penny I paid for it !!

I had a major system crash but was (initially) able to back up my documents, pictures, music, etc. to an external drive. When I reinstalled Windows Vista, it (for reasons I'll never understand) copied the contents of the C drive to the external drive, and overwrote EVERYTHING that had been backed up on that external drive. Another software (that was rated #1 in a 2011 "data recovery software" review!) was a total waste of time and money - it didn't find even ONE single file I had lost. But VirtualLab Data Recovery performed BRILLIANTLY! First - the free download & search let me know if it was going to work for me BEFORE I had to lay out my money. Second - it did multiple scans of the external drive, finding EVERYTHING I had lost. I couldn't buy your software fast enough! We even took the system to a data recovery service and after 5 days they told us that they could not undelete the data. We could see that there were 75GB of information in an unassigned partition of the hard drive but couldn't get to it. I found VirtualLab Data Recovery and gave it a try, since we felt we had nothing to lose. We ran it last night and this morning ALL of my files WITH file names are intact! Overall Evaluation: I can't believe how fantastic the VirtualLab Data Recovery program worked! I thought I'd lost all my photos, but I recovered 95%+ of them. I feel like a complete Wally, as I lost the photos in the process of backing up onto my new external hardrive. I re-partitioned the drive on my macbook, thinking that I'd backed-up on to the external, when I found only empty folders (I didn't verify). So I had to recover from the re-partitioned drive. I think the trick is once you've discovered the mistake, don't interact with the computer until you're ready to do the recovery.

Overall Evaluation: I run a small home recording studio and made the horrible mistake of only keeping one copy of all the projects of my own, and most importantly: the bands I work with. After a very short fall to the floor my external drive was showing as unreadable in windows. Other dos based software let me see that the partition still existed somehow, but I was unable to recover any data. I am in the process of recovering just the one folder which is most important to me right now and VirtualLab Data Recovery worked like a charm- you have no idea what a relief this is. As a student I don't have the money to send my drive off to a data recovery service.

Overall Evaluation: I do want other people who are considering your product to know that it works well. I had my data on a raid set with complete copies of my information stored two discs. When my raid crashed, I tried to restore it and accidentally pushed a wrong button. I then had to reinstall my operating system. Because raid has been such a problem, I reinstalled Windows, in a standard, non-raid setting, in its own partition. When I was finished, Windows wouldn't recognize the information on the rest of my hard drives. I had to reset the partitions to get windows to acknowledge them, but it still wouldn't see my files. I used a trial version of a competitor first. Their program told me that I had lost almost all of my data including my pictures. VirtualLab Data Recovery trial worked well, so I bought it. I now have all my files back in good working order. My pictures are OK. Thank you.

The first and second program I downloaded, ran, and bought because it claimed to have found data, lead to nothing but unknown, unusable and empty files. Overall Evaluation: I am extatic with the effectiveness and ease of use of your product. After attempting to set up a RAID 1 array on our computer store server while upgrading hardware (new CPU & MoBo), both hdds disappeared from windows and had to format them in order to make them visible again. There is something really wrong with those hard drives since Windows XP boot up slows down whenever they are connected. We tried other recovery programs but they would only see files that had been deleted and with wrong filenames, they could not detect the healthy files from the array. VirtualLab Data Recovery successfully recovered all the healthy files from the array, previewing them after one pass of the advanced recovery function, along with file name and complete directory structure. This saved me since I was about to render the info lost and the hard drives useless. I called a HD recovery service and they quoted me USD$50 for diagnosis and eventual recovery that could go from USD$500 to $2500. I'm really glad I paid less than their diagnosis for this software.

I brought my machine to a highly respected & reputable PC repair company for help. After 30 hours on the bench, all they came up with was 8MB of trash & explained my only hope was a data recovery service that would cost me between $500 and $2,000 to ATTEMPT to recover anything more but not to get my hope up because he had already used the industries leading data recovery program in trying to bring back my lost files. I came across VirtualLab Data Recovery after running a search on the Net & much to my surprise not only did it find everything but I could see the contents of the folders. The best thing about it is that not only it got all my data back, it also did it at a fraction of the cost.

Overall Evaluation: After a power outage our second hard drive which we used for storage was no longer recognized by Windows - no files, no folders, no pictures, no music, nothing. Since I was out of town, my wife decided to format the drive to see if it could still be used. Then she copied some of our photos off of a CD onto the drive to prove it would work and left the rest up to me when I got home. Having little hope, I started VirtualLab Data Recovery and went to bed while it began scanning our 640GB drive. Next morning it showed a huge list of recoverable files. I told it to recover them (to our main Windows C: drive in My Documents). Later we went through the recovered files. As far as we could tell everything was there except for two photos - yes, just two! - and one garbled music track. In addition, it recovered some photos and documents we had deleted over six months before

Most of us are human, we make mistakes and this can take care of those mistakes, or another app could inadvertently delete a file, whatever. Overall Evaluation: I have been able to recover and save all of the really critical files that were lost and now I am verifying that they are ok. One of the most critical things was the backup that was taken just prior to the damage. So far, with absolute no glitches, I have been able to recover the whole backup. I am impressed with this program. I tried a number of tools to get this data back and VirtualLab Data Recovery was the only one that would do more than just show me some of the lost folders. In the end I purchased VirtualLab Data Recovery and it recovered all of my files, file names and directory tree intact. I had some sort of a NTFS corruption as the disk test passed every time, and was not simply a lost partition, deleted files, or accidental format. I'm quite happy with the results this software offered.

After a couple of days I went to a friend of mine to put some of his music on my hdd and did not unplug it with safety remove. When I got home, my computer could not read the hdd anymore. I tried on other computers and looked for answers on the internet but the only thing I could do is to format it. I am one of those people and I thought that in order to get back my files I would have to go with my PC in service and pay a lot of money to someone there to recover my files, when in fact it's as easy as using my email account. Overall Evaluation: After days of modifying some of my holyday pictures in Photoshop, I saw my lovely little daughter deleting random folders from my laptop. I cannot be mad at her so I started figuring out a way to get back all my work that was deleted. I found VirtualLab Data Recovery on the internet and gave it a try and without fail, it got all my folders back in one piece, including my modified pictures. This is a really nice little software which Iâm sure will be needing in the future and would also recommend it to those who have these kind of âaccidentsâ around their computers. In the morning, when I finished all the work and saved my project, I wanted to send it to my Flash pen and accidentally sent it to recycle bin. After a well deserved sleep, I opened my PC and when I tried to make some modifications to my project I saw it was neither on my Flash pen nor on my hard drive. I even looked for it in the recycle bin but it was empty as my wife always empties it for no reason. First thing I did was to go online and search for a data recovery software and after trying two different softwareâs with no luck, I then tried VirtualLab Data Recovery which was exactly what I needed. It got my project back really fast and now I have a copy on my hard and one on my flash. My wife does not empty my recycle bin anymore since than.

I am the same way with organizing files on my PC but last week something happened and I deleted a folder with some pictures that should not have been deleted. Overall Evaluation: I have no more problems with files that are accidentally deleted since I found VirtualLab Data Recovery. It got me out of a big jam one time and since then Iâve been using it every time I delete some files I need later on. I recommend this program to everyone that deletes their files without looking too close or has his head up in the clouds all the time like I do.

Strengths: VirtualLab is the best recovery software I found

Overall Evaluation: Iâve been around computers all my life and always want the best out of everything I have. When it comes to data recovery softwares, the best I found so far has to be VirtualLab Data Recovery, itâs fast, does the job it needs to do and itâs a little too easy to use. I recommend this software to anyone who wants to get back all the deleted files or files lost after formatting. It also works well on my macbook air.

Overall Evaluation: I had all my music stored on one partition which my brother also uses for his games. One day, I came home and could not find my music and in stead there were a couple of new games and no more free space. When I confronted him, he said he needed extra space for the new games and âaccidentallyâ deleted my music. I was really mad and told him I did not care how he does it, but I wanted all my music back. After our discussion, I saw him go out to buy a couple of dvdâs and the next day I found all my music back where it was. I asked him how he did it and he showed me this cool program, VirtualLab Data Recovery. He put a couple of games on some dvdâs and left plenty of space for my music and I guess lots of other games for him.

Strengths: After formatting my external HDD I got my data back
Weaknesses: After formatting my external hard drive, I remembered that I had some folders there that I kinda needed. I wanted to get them back, but not spend 15 hours to scan and recover them (you know⦠time is money) so I tried VirtualLab Data Recovery which got them back fast and easy. This is really good software if you find yourself in a similar situation as I did and I highly recommend it to all of my friends.

Overall Evaluation: I was really scared when I deleted my sisterâs photos from her honeymoon. I called a friend of mine which knows more about computers than me and he told me to download VirtualLab Data Recovery from the internet and use it to recover all the photos. I was really skeptical at start, but when I saw what this program does, I felt a big relief. It got all the pictures back the way they were and my sister does not suspect anything.

Overall Evaluation: When I deleted my files from my PC I thought they would be lost forever. A friend of mine told me to try VirtualLab Data Recovery in order to get all my files back but Iâm not what you call a computer wiz and did not know if I could do it. Surprisingly, this program is very easy to use and it did not take me long to get my data back. Iâm glad that I got this program and itâs so easy to use. I would recommend it to literally anyone who has a computer.

Overall Evaluation: VirtualLab is a life saver. After I sent a bunch of folders to the recycle bin and emptied it, I could not find the photos we took at our sonâs first year anniversary. At first I did not know what to do and of course I could not tell my wife what I did so I started looking on the internet for a solution to my problem. I found this software on a forum where somebody had only wonderful things to say about it and I though Iâd give it a try (there was nothing else I could loose except a nightâs sleep on the couch). It took only a couple of minutes to download, install and then I had it scan my pc for the lost photos. I recovered all the photos and put them in a safe place from where Iâm sure Iâm not going to delete them again. I never told my wife what Iâve done, though :)

Overall Evaluation: I have to say that VirtualLab Data Recovery got me out of a tight spot. My friend gave me his PC to reinstall Windows since it was running a little slow and I forgot to save what he had on drive C. I put the boot CD in the CD-Rom, formatted the drive and wanted to install Windows when I remembered that he had some pictures and files on his desktop he told me were important. I quickly searched on my PC for a data recovery program which had to be fast and easy to use (I told him he can come back for his PC the same day) and found VirtualLab. It did not take me long to recover his missing files then install Windows and meet my friend to give his PC back. This software is a real piece of work and would recommend it to anyone that has these kinds of problems.

Overall Evaluation: Believe it or not this has saved my bacon more than once. First time being the worst as I had the biggest problem with my laptop. I've had two of my four partitions suddenly become inaccessible. Those were the drives I designated as backup and data storage. You can imagine what losing all your data can make you do. Enough said. I called up VirtualLab customer support and told them of my issue. They gave me the first sigh of relief in three days when they said "We fully understand your problem. We guarantee you that your partitions are going to be restored and your data completely in order. All you have to do is sit back and watch.." Simply put, I embarrassed myself by thanking them too much. I told them I'd do my part to tell this story. Guys, VirtualLab is truly worth the investment as it does a lot more than recover data. Check them out.

Strengths: Ability to retrieve pretty much any deleted files as long as it has not yet been overwritten on the disk drive. You can also recover pieces of files that have been partially overwritten. Not only can this product recover deleted files, it can also recover files that have not been deleted, e.g. recover files off a failed drive.
Weaknesses: None that I can really think of.
Overall Evaluation: Of course this software is not free! This is powerful, professional-grade software. For $200 you can by a license for 1 PC and unlimited amounts of data recover. VirtualLab can recover data from external devices, including USB devices. I install the hard drive needing recovery into an external enclosure and recover data easily. This data recovery software can restore the file structure as-is and can also layout folders containing filetypes. So if you wanted to only recover JPEG or GIF files you could. The free part of VirtualLab is that you may scan a drive in order to see what can be recovered, but you must pay in order to get the software to actually recover anything. A cool thing though is that you can preview images in full-size using the trial version of VirtualLab so you can really see that the program is legit. Yes, it does cost money. No, you can't get professional-grade software like this for free.

Overall Evaluation: The program description and all marketing is, at best, completely utrustworthy; arguably themarketers are liars. The program is NOT free. Heck, it's not even sharewar. You CANNOT try it before you buy it. It's slow to find anything at all. Well, okay, perhaps that's difficult. But then, to even establish for sure whether or not the program has worked, and successfully recovered a file they want $99. To have the program listed here on pcworld's site is not good fr the reputation of pcworld.
