    Duration of ownership: 1 Months

    Strengths: The real shareaza is great. The real one is developed by a very ethical and reliable group of people. The Fake which is labeled as version 4 and which is actually offered by pcworld is crap. PCworld will be getting a poor review on my website for not updating their download links.

    Weaknesses: there is none for the real product. The fake product is put out by a bunch of pirates looking to steal another mans work and recognition

    Overall Evaluation: My evaluation of the real ShareAza is that it is an awesome product. My evaluation of the FAKE version 4 software put out by discordia is a dont use and dont download. I feel that it is mostly spyware. My overall evaluation of PCWorld is that they should be ashamed of serving software that has been pirated from legitimate hardworking programmers.

    Weaknesses: A spyware-infested cheap copy of the original Shareaza. DOWNLOAD ONLY FROM THE SOURCEFORGE SITE!!!

    Overall Evaluation: I am highly disappointed in PCWorld!!! You people are not linking to the official product. Your "Download Now" and "Author" links are pointing to an obvious ripoff of the original. I thought you guys were pc experts. Why can't you figure out which is the real deal? This wouldn't be happening if it was a product by a big name company.

    Strengths: Connects to 3 popular networks. Easy to use, and still tweakable enough to please a power-user.

    Weaknesses: Domain name got stolen. Users are being driven away by fake pay-to-download client currently being served at shareaza.com

    Overall Evaluation: DON'T DOWNLOAD SHAREAZA FROM THE PCWORLD LINK, DOMAIN GOT SLAMMED, FAKE CLIENT IS BEING SERVED! There is no Sharaza V4. The current release of Shareaza is 2.3.1.0 and can be obtained from: http://shareaza.sourceforge.net/

    Weaknesses: Limited to centralized server, no other network access. Only 15 minute movies available

    Overall Evaluation: Please REMOVE this Fake version of the real Shareaza (which is free to use) and can be found at http://sourceforge.net/projects/shareaza/.... This security advisory is provided by http://secunia.com/advisories/28302/ and is clased as Moderately Critical. This Applcation has no link to Shareaza Pty, in fact if you click the link you will see that it is actually being distributed by Discordia Ltd.

    Strengths: Great P2P application, but see the note below!

    Weaknesses:

    Overall Evaluation: Please beware! The original shareaza.com website was hijacked back in late 2007, and now distributes a version with spyware. If you want the genuine and original shareaza, go to sourceforge.net. For more information about the hijacking, see torrentfreak.com or google search it. PC World is showing the owner of this software as Shareaza Pty at shareaza.com, so I would NOT trust downloading here at pcworld. Again, check the news yourself.
