Strengths: Easy to install and then run
Weaknesses: It cleaned my files too well and stopped me accessing some 'important' Apps that I never had any problems with.
Overall Evaluation: In the end I had to reinstall Firefox 3.5 to recover my browser service. I would not recommend this App, to anyone who is 'not' a techie geek.

Strengths: Thorough, gives easyto understand descriptions for findings. Am not even a geekster but could understand the functions-features.
Weaknesses: I haven't had any problems using this cleaner. Looked through many to find one could have confidence and trust.
Overall Evaluation: Really helped the PC when it started acting sick. Agree with drmsucks; go to web site and study. Saves problems.

Strengths: Very thorough.
Weaknesses: Maybe too thorough cleaning of registry. Wipes out saved sign-in protocols in browsers as "cookies," worse seems to remove system files after a while causing crashes and needs for reinstalls.
Overall Evaluation: Had to uninstall. No more crashes or missing essential files.

Strengths: The quintessential program to "clean out" the crap that accumulates on a Windows machine.
Weaknesses: This product has no weaknesses; but, do yourself a favor and go to the Piriform website and learn how to effectively use it.
Overall Evaluation: This product gets 10 out of 10 and is an indispensable product to have and to use regularly. Thank you, Piriform!

Strengths: It safely removes unwanted,useless,and sometimes performance decreasing files.
Weaknesses: Doesn't clean the browser(example=firefox)if it is open.
Overall Evaluation: CCleaner is Crap Cleaner.Lets just say it's like a maid.It cleans up all the useless files and it fixes all the registry issues.This software should have 0 No's and about a million Yes's.

Strengths: Free and fast. Does what it says it will do.
Weaknesses: For several options, you can mess up bad if you don't know what you're doing. Won't do any cleaning if Firefox is open.
Overall Evaluation: Very, very good. Might even deserve 5 stars.

Strengths: Great Features including an unistall. Works really good.
Weaknesses: Updates often and you have to manually download. Wish it would update on it's own. No scheduler, but that's ok because it cleans out great!
Overall Evaluation: I love it and will keep it for a long time to come. I have it on my children's laptops and it makes a big difference. It's well worth it.

Strengths: CCleaner has more features for free than some of the paid for programs. Works very well.
Weaknesses: As with any program/utility please LEARN how-to use it. It is powerful enough to make you regret NOT thinking first.
Overall Evaluation: After using it for 3 years on a dozen or so PCs I am still impressed with how easy it is to use and the noticeable difference it makes. A clean PC sure runs better. If I really must get down right serious though I'll use one of my paid for programs. Albeit they don't have much extra to offer. ArchiCrypt is a real good one to use. I can set it to automatically perform certain tasks while the PC is in use. CCleaner shuld consider this cool option. But I still more often will use CCleaner. Besides CCleaner is quit safe and better for a novice. Download it and enjoy a better running PC!!

Overall Evaluation: The difference between before and after using CCleaner was almost miraculous. What a great relief after so many problems and slow-downs! I was reluctant at first to try it after seeing all the thumbs-down, but took PCWorld's advice and tried it. Thank you!!!

Overall Evaluation: Always run "Analyze", not "Run Cleaner". Be sure that what you erase is undesirable.

Weaknesses: no support for cleaning firefox or itunes automatically....get with the times!
Overall Evaluation: Who can argue with free stuff. I was impressed, I tried it out after seeing a whole review of the ccleaner download worth checking out

Strengths: Quick & easy to use as long as you're careful. Remember it's a tool and if a tool is used incorrectly..Blame the user!
Weaknesses: None
Overall Evaluation: I have used this tool for 3 years on all my machines (6 to date) and its does exactly wht is asked of it!

Overall Evaluation: this utility works better then some you have to purchase. And like alny other program you use you have to READ . The are option that let you turn off the boot up scan that it performs. And there is also options that let you choose which files to delete. I have had no problems what so ever with this nice little utility. And after all it is free and it works great.

Overall Evaluation: use the back up files to make shore you don't delete the wroung files. when just go back after a while and delete the oldsave'ed files in ccleaner. this program will run well if you take the time to read the info and understand how to use it.

Strengths: strong program without a doubt, I've use it for along time, and now I use it with my vista windows system and have had no problems

Overall Evaluation: i never write reviews, but this product saved my cookies, found 7 Norton AV entries in my registry after using windows program removal and norton av special program remover, was causing my new mcafee av to crash randomly now things seem resolved bravo ccleaner

Strengths: NONE
Weaknesses: WARNING: WILL TAKE OUT YOUR NTLDR AND YOUR HAL.DLL MAKING THE COMPUTER UNUSABLE.
Overall Evaluation: Even though it has a check mark NOT to look at system files, it came up with 3k duplicate files. Obviously I DID NOT check every line before I deleted them, but something happened to the NTLDR & HAL.DLL files. Without them you get NOTHING. It took me 5-6 hours to research and correct this problem. I'm IMMEDIATELY removing CCleaner. There are dupilate files-finder our there that won't hammer your system.

Strengths: I kept getting notice each morning from my automatic daily Yahoo CA Virus scan that I had five (5) Java/ByteVerify viruses. The Yahoo CA scan does not have a "Remove" option so I went online to try to find out how I could get rid of these viruses. I tried lots and lots of various downloads without findilng any that would remove these viruses. Finally found CCleaner. Checked out PCWorld.com for more information about it and found nothing negative so I downloaded it. It was recommended from a previous user to click on "options", then "advanced" and uncheck "only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours". Did that and scanned my computer with CCleaner. Then I ran my Yahoo CA virus scanner again and it didn't show any of the Java/ByteVerify viruses at all!
Weaknesses: Haven't noticed any and my computer seems to run faster now.
Overall Evaluation: I am very pleased to have found CCleaner. It saved my sanity as I was going nuts trying to find a program that could get rid of the Java/ByteVerify virus.

Strengths: IT IS A GREAT TOOL IT REALLY CLEANS OUT ALL THE FILES YOU DO NOT WANTAND THE DLLIT DOES HAVE POWERFUL JOB
Weaknesses: WELL YOU HAVE TO BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS BECAUSE IT WILL WIPE OUT SOME OF YOUR DOWNLOADS IF YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL . SO YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY ATTENTION AND DON"T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE THAT I DID BUT IT REALLY WASN"TTHAT BAD I DID LEARN HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM.NOW I KNOW HOW TO USETHIS TOOL ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS READ YOUR FILES AND CHECK THE ONES YOU DO NOT WANT. SO I HOPE THAT I HELP YOU OUT ON THIS .

Strengths: Does a thorough job of cleaning. User can select how it runs and which files it cleans. Secure deletion available (numerous overwrites). Has a few other tools like add remove programs etc. A great Free tool. Works with IE 7 (Window Washer 6.0 does not!)
Weaknesses: Cleans on reboot or startup. I would prefer on shutdown. Obviously this results in fast shutdown, but slower bootup as ccleaner does it's job.
Overall Evaluation: Excellent Free product. Has replaced Window Washer 6.0 on my system.
