Strengths: Nice network mapping
Weaknesses: It is a Cisco app and cannot identify any routers or switches in my Cisco only network
Overall Evaluation: Should be branded Linksys if it cannot identify Cisco equipment

Strengths: Great program for maintaining home network.
Weaknesses: Not free.
Overall Evaluation: Network Magic makes my life easy, it has saved me hours of headaches in setting up and maintaining my network. I can get to the router's setup screen by opening it up from the network map screen. This way you don't have to remember the IP address of your routers set up or even the user name and password. Same thing for other stuff (Pro version)like network drives, etc. It also maintains my shares, of which I have many, so they always work. I have 7 computers, 2 network drives, a wireless printer, and a wifi phone on my network, so this tool is invaluable to me.

Strengths: Scans the network - keeps up with the network, wants you to install it on all computers
Weaknesses: Too much of Chatty Cathy! After installing things - I normally sort of forget them. But this thing started a **** near broadcast storm. I mean Arp is fine ... but this thing was "storming" arp. I mean come ON.
Overall Evaluation: I removed it the same day. When I need to go find out WHAT is causing a lot of traffic on my network, and this thing is it, it's got to go. I will not miss you.

Strengths: Had no installaton problems on a mixed Windows Vista 64/XP network. Most importantly, it works. It identified new devices that tried to enter my network and correctly identified computers whose security status was not adequate.
Weaknesses: None that I can complain about.
Overall Evaluation: I like it. I installed it on my home network and plan to use it in my small business network.

Strengths: If you can get around the problems it is an easy install of a home network.
Weaknesses: Lack of information on getting by firewall.
Overall Evaluation: After I dumped Online Armour and went with only Windows Firewall all was tickety boo. The info provided about the network is very good

Strengths: Did not wokr correctly, so I do not know if it has any
Weaknesses: does not work and can not get tech support. Sent 3 requests, no response. Went to Cisco and sent another request. Has been a week and no response.
Overall Evaluation: Less than poor since I could not get support. And then they wanted me to pay for telephone support

Strengths: -Gets stubborn wireless connections to work seamlessly, -Very detailed info on all devices connected to your network, -Easy interface
Weaknesses: -Would bog down your system unless you have a good setup, -Adds more services & startup programs, -For full benefit, must install on all computers in a network
Overall Evaluation: This tool/utility was a surprise... it provides good detail on your home network, and helps prevent "intruders". Good for people who like to monitor everything in real-time. However, I'm still not sure if the $29 price is worth it or not. Some if not most of the tools in this software can be obtained elsewhere, whether it be in Internet security suites or pc-optimization utilities.
