  Duration of ownership: 3 Years

  Strengths: * ease of use (for English text only) * some interesting accompanying features such as clip books.

  Weaknesses: * Does not tell you what code page your text is in. * Lacks capability to permit changing from one code page to another. If you want to compose text in two diverse languages, NTP may leave you in the lurch and zilchify a whole lot of your work in the process. Notably, NTP does not handle the UTF-8 code page. Anyone doing a web page in a language other than a Latin-based one, is in for some frustrating surprises and wasted time. * Amazing lack of tech support. * An attitude of aggressiveness and turf-protective arrogance in their support forum.

  Overall Evaluation: If you use it in English only and your expectations are low, it is fair to middling. But there are much better text editors out there.
