Strengths: It is a different color.

Weaknesses: I wanted an easy way to group my shortcuts by function. This didn't meet my needs.

Overall Evaluation: Since uninstalling Vista Start Menu, things have disappeared from my system tray. An application in the start up folder doesn't start. TurboTax has a fatal error on start. I think this is malware.

Strengths: Looks good for a very short period of time.

Weaknesses: This program is NOT compatible with XP Pro. It worked for a short period of time and then completely messed up my pc. Thank goodness I had sense enough to do a restore point before I installed this software!

Overall Evaluation: BE afraid! Be very, very afraid!

Strengths: Easy to you, much less confusing the mess Microsoft changed the menu to.

    Weaknesses: Nothing.

Overall Evaluation: When I started my first Windows 7 machine, I loathed the 'new improved' menu. I am so glad for Vista Start Menu. Easy to configure, and much quicker access to programs. Also, has tools that native Windows menu doesn't have.

Strengths: Easy to configure, 100% better than the standard Vista/Win7 menus.

    Weaknesses: Haven't found any yet

Overall Evaluation: I used this when I had Vista and now am using it with my Win7 and it works just great. Not sure what emmy57 is using, but aero and search are readily available in my version of VSM.

Strengths: Friendly, fast, much easier to use.

    Weaknesses: None yet

Overall Evaluation: For me this is an answer to prayer. I hated the start menu that came with Vista & the classic was lacking several features I was used to. I would gladly pay for this but so far have no need to.

Strengths: Combines most of the best features of the Windows XP and Vista start menus, along with a number of its own unique features.

Weaknesses: Customization is limited in the free version.

Overall Evaluation: This is really an excellent product, especially for those moving to Vista who like the hierarchical structure of start menus from previous versions of Windows.

Overall Evaluation: DON`T WASTE YOUR TIME TO DOWNLOAD AND THEN ERASE IT. I THINK IT IS CRAZY TO PAY FOR IT.

Weaknesses: you can't access the options or configuration unless you buy the pro version, that means you're stuck with their set up.

Overall Evaluation: not worth the bother of installing then uninstalling.
