Strengths: Awesome stitching intelligence, simple to use (once you get past the options), excellent results. Produces truly astonishing panoramas. And it's free.
Weaknesses: Technically a demo app for the technology, the program options are indeed unintelligible. Program expires after a while, but you can download a new version for free.
Overall Evaluation: I've stuck with Autostitch for several years and have never been disappointed by its results. It's one of my most useful photo apps--and it's free to boot. Use these options for best results: Output Size: set to 100%; Gain Compression: enable; System Memory: increase if you have more RAM; and most importantly: JPEG Quality: set to 95%. Leave all else at their defaults. I accomplished in minutes what took my brother several hours in Photoshop to do.

Overall Evaluation: I had downloaded and installed AutoStitch several months ago simply out of curiosity although I didn't need it and then I forgot about it until now. Now I tried to look at it again but couldn't open it because it's only a demo that expired. My wild guess is that it probably expires perhaps anywhere between 10 to 30 days and then it wants you to purchase it. I prefer freeware and therefore if I ever do want a program that stitches together panoramic pics I'll search for a freeware that may suffice or wait until one is available.
