Duration of ownership: 1 Weeks
Strengths: Nothing really stands out.
Weaknesses: Very slow incremental backups. Not at all intuitive. Poor method for selection of what to backup
Overall Evaluation: Received this free when I purchased an Iomega external USB disk drive. I have been using AISBackup for several years. I decided to try retrospect to compare it to AISBackup. Although it appeared to work, I found it hard to use and much slower than AISBackup.

Duration of ownership: 2 Weeks
Strengths: Ultimately, none. Version 1 for Mac was the only great version.
Weaknesses: Corrupt and unreliable verification of backup data -- v.7.6.123. Falsely reports backup data verification errors. Completely futile customer service. Deleted features from browser for an idiot-proof program only useful for idiots.
Overall Evaluation: Retrospect 7.6.123 is absolutely and totally useless, since one cannot know whether their backup or duplicate is true or corrupt. Customer support says to just ignore the reported errors. Thus, EMC represents to provide an indispensible feature which it then requires you to ignore.
