    Duration of ownership: 20 Months

    Strengths: Real-time shield, HIPS (if you want to activate it), integrated anti-virus (ClamAV), fast spyware scan (slower when combined with the optional anti-virus scan)

    Weaknesses: Pushy about installing the WebGuard, which you don't really need, especially if you use Firefox, and their Crawler Toolbar, which you definitely don't need. Scans with the AV can be pretty slow, even though they're good; you also need to make sure not to activate the AV shield if you already use another anti-virus program that is running one.

    Overall Evaluation: Best free anti-spyware shield, but with only average scanning performance. When used with another scanner, in particular the unsurpassed SuperAntiSpyware and/or Malwarebytes, you get incredible protection with minimal resource usage. The HIPS feature is a nice option, but it increases the footprint significantly, so should be enabled only if you feel your surfing habits warrant its use. Crawler continues to improve this utility, and the latest version is a tribute to this dedication, offering a lot of flexibility while bolstering its effectiveness. Still, it may be a bit beyond the capabilities of a beginner...

    Duration of ownership: 1 Years

    Strengths: Free, very good detection and has yet to fail at removing detected infections. Even though the browser tool bar is considered "adware" it is actually very good and does not submit vital pc information.

    Weaknesses: My only complaint is that you can not hide the browser tool bar, move it, or remove the crawler logo.

    Overall Evaluation: Overall, this has been the best free spyware remover I've found in my 10 years of using the internet. Contrary to the ignorance shown by other reviewers, it does not install the browser tool bar without asking you. If you took the time to pay attention to the install options there is a plainly visible check box all by it's self on one page of the intall that says "Install browser tool bar" or something other. This can be unchecked. And if you chose to install it anyways, it can be removed later without removing the program. The bar it's self is not spyware, but an addon that works almost exactly like the stumble-apon or WOT firefox addons. It allows users to rate sites as safe, bad and etc. It does nothing more than that.

    Duration of ownership: 2 Years

    Strengths: I have used Nortan Anti-Virus, Mcafee,Pc Tools spyware docter etc and Spyware terminator beats all of them hands down, its a amazing product that everyone should use.

    Weaknesses: No weakness

    Overall Evaluation: Amazing Product much better then any 1 you pay for

    Duration of ownership: 2 Weeks

    Strengths: Live protection. Nice Interface. All the features of a paid service.

    Weaknesses: Seems a little overly protective. Sending items to Qtine seems a little 'screwy'.

    Overall Evaluation: This spyware program offers many features mainly reserved for 'paid' software, especially the LIVE protection. The interface is easy to use for beginners and can be tweaked by more expert users. I was a little annoyed that the program gave me more pop-up access requests than my firewall (feels a little over protective). I also had trouble moving many of the items to the quarantine bin. Completely deleting them though was not a problem. Overall, a very nice piece of software.

    Duration of ownership: 2 Months

    Strengths: The user interface is well developed, and easy to use. Quick access buttons, and swift deployment of options. Everyday database updates available, and a schedualer for all rounded configurations.

    Weaknesses: None, so far this application has proven its worth, and has found spy ware other programs have not.

    Overall Evaluation: I have Ad aware personal edition, Spy bot search and destroy, and now spyware terminator. I ran all three programs in seperate times after a week of surfing, and found the terminator program to be able to find more spyware than the other two. I have taken out the spybot s+d program totally from my computer. I use the ad- aware, and the spyware terminator programs side by side, and I am very happy with the set up. I use the terminators real time protection utility, and the ad aware for when ever I feel it needed. Spyware Terminator is great, and i suggest evryone should try it out.

    Duration of ownership: 6 Months

    Strengths: This program has an real-time scanning capabilities which are exellent and anti-virus intergration.It also has a nice interface and is easy to use and understand.It updates daily and it is a light weight program that uses little resouces.The scanner is fast and rates with top pograms like Ad-Aware,Spybot Windows Defender and Spysweeper

    Weaknesses: The anti-virus scanner is a little slow and it could have more options for handling infections,although I have seen little of anything since I have been using this program.It's sheild is like a second firewall and works as a blocker.

    Overall Evaluation: This is an exellent program and I realized this after I shut it down for a few days.You can surf with some peace of mind with Spyware Terminator. I have tested Most all the Anti- spyware products available free and on trial.This one is impressive and look for it to be on top of the market soon.I would give it a top rating if it would not insist on access as opening.This gives the firewall and other security devices a little work and leaves traces.It is easily cleaned but could be changed.Some programs may look at it as unwanted behavior,that's all.It is a great program and you should give it a try.
