Strengths: I guess it worked. The update feature worked.
Weaknesses: For the last year or so, I had noticed that my PC (using Vista 32-bit) was sluggish coming out of sleep. At times, Windows Explorer froze. I had a lot of trouble logging into Skype. I seemed to be using a lot of resources, and it got worse the longer my computer ran. Because Explorer froze, O often had to reboot the computer. Someone suggested uninstalling ThreatFire and ALL of the above issues vanished.
Overall Evaluation: ThreatFire is too bloated for me to recommend to anyone.

Strengths: Automatically questions all new programs that try's to open or change Internet or system files.
Weaknesses: When installing a program that you trust it will give you a window and ask if this is allowed.
Overall Evaluation: Very good for the fact that it does question every file change. I have had programs on my system for month's and all of a sudden I get the pop up window allowing me to stop a process from happening. ( Wonderful )

Weaknesses: no work Win7 Pro (64)
Overall Evaluation: After install, no boot, had to restore in safe mode. If you try it, be sure to set restore point in Win7 first.

Weaknesses: Not comaptable with MSE AV. I was getting error messages on reboot from MSE and with the help of microsofts help site discovered the problem was with threatfire. It wasn't enough to uninstall threatfire. I had to get a removal tool available from threatfire before the error messages stopped. I had to reinstall MSE also
Overall Evaluation: From reading some of the other reviews i don't know if it's worth trying unless your AV has proven it's compatable. I know PC World pushes this download as a reccommended item with any free AV. They may need to reconsider. Running Vista

Strengths: It seem to guard against all intrusion, very well
Weaknesses: After about a month, my laptop started acting up. I ended up having to reload everything because of changes made to drivers by Threatfire.
Overall Evaluation: After reloading Windows XP Home Sp 3, one of the first things was to update security, loading Threatfire after Defender and AVG 8. While loading TF, I was given a warning that drivers were out of date and needed reloading. I continued. Almost immediately, all the problems I had came back and I immediately Uninstalled TF and restored (just to be sure) to previous rest. point. All problems were corredted. I notified Threatfire and as yet have had no response.

Strengths: I've installed on friends' PCs, as well as mine, as an added layer of protection and is simple for them to use.
Weaknesses: Even with the scheduled scan disabled, it seems to start whenever it updates, and it makes even my dual code PC choke! It wouldn't be so bad if the scan could be paused, or stopped, but the popup controls are ineffective. Because if this, I've had to remove it from my friends' PCs as it makes them unuseable.
Overall Evaluation: I would be willing to try it again if the scans didn't impact my system so much. I think the way it detects threats by actions rather than signitures is superb, it just needs refinement.

Strengths: Just set and forget. Very effective. Uses minimum system ressources.
Weaknesses: None
Overall Evaluation: A very nice piece of software and definitely one of the most effective that I have ever used in the war on Malware. Even the smallest adware has trouble getting through. A fantastic 'must-have' product.

Strengths: Uses Minimal Resources. Simple Interface. Runs Silently In The Background. Updates Itself. Set It And Forget It.
Weaknesses: None Yet.
Overall Evaluation: Great addition to your security package. Doesn't bog down your system. Very simple interface. I maintain several systems for freinds & family. I'ts surprising how many of them had problems with mailware\spyware sneeking into their computers. By installing this on all machines i'm maintaining, it's eliminated having to spend my time ridding their computers of unwanted nasties. I run Threatfire along with AVG, AVG AntiSpyware, Windows Defender, Super AntiSpyware & various Firewall aplications( 1 per machine of course), all free of course. Some may think that's a little overkill & it may be, but they all pretty much maintain themselves. Since adding Threatfire however, if i wanted to drop any of these programs, i would more than likely get rid of the SuperAntiSpyware & the AVG AntiSpyware. As I said though, they all pretty much maintain themselves & I have not run into any conflicts between any & all of these programs running simultaneously. If you're interested in adequate protection with minimul resources being used, my reccomendation would be the free versions of: AVG antivirus, Threatfire, Windows Defender & a good firewall. Hope this helps.

Strengths: Excellent advanced behavior based protection, complements my other apps (AVG, Zone free firewall) nicely with no conflicts, minimal system impact, very quite--only bothers me when there's something that requires attention
Weaknesses:
Overall Evaluation: Cyberhawk is so easy to use and so minimally intrusive that I almost forget that I'm using it. It gives me great added protection in addition to my other security programs, but it doesn't conflict with them or slow down my system. I definitely give it a high rating and two thumbs up!
