Strengths: It scans for "spyware" and other malware. Found nothing on my pc.
Weaknesses: No real-time protection. Puts a service on the PC that runs all the time even though the program isn't running in the tray (bloatware?). No uninstaller in Program group (only in Add/Remove). WORST thing is when you uninstall. Many people have reported (me too) that it puts an unknown device (ROOT\LEGACY_SASKUTIL\0000) on PC after uninstalling and restarting. They have an uninstaller in the forums that gets rid of it (if you know that's what the device is). Why not include the uninstaller in the installer (uninstaller is from 2008 - is now 2011)? The issue is very hard to diagnose. Who knows how many people just live with this unknown device loading on the system?
Overall Evaluation: There is a Pro version on their site. I think it has real-time protection and a free trial. Also, try malwarebytes. Faster, cleaner use and uninstall. No services running when closed, assuming you don't want it running at startup. Includes trial of full version in free version.

Strengths: It picks up lots of cookies that most cookie cleaners miss and does pick up some fake antivirus programs
Weaknesses: Slow and some times only picks up cookies, where other programs pick more
Overall Evaluation: I would use this an addition to run once a month or so but would not depend on it. Still have faith on total internet security fully updated. USe Kaspersky Internet SEcurity the last 4 years and no virus issues with it. Great Package. Need help with it contact Niall Mulrine www.pcclean.ie

Strengths: I don't know. I used it for a month and it has not found anything on my computer.
Weaknesses: My Secunia PSI keeps telling me SuperAntiSpyware is insecure. I have downloaded all the updates.
Overall Evaluation: I gave it a Good rating because it has not done anything bad to my computer and because Secunia PSI says it is insecure along with the fact I has found nothing. I will uninstall it today.

Strengths: The best I have used in over 15 years of computing. Finds stuff that paid versions of Norton and McAfee did not.
Weaknesses: None! I believe the users experiencing problems with SUPER AntiSpyware have not been keeping up on their computer health and security issues. Be careful that you check each item it finds in your registry as it does remove infected registry entries. If you have been using a program which has infected the registry, removal may cause an unstable situation. BUT it should have not have gone that far if you have been using the proper security to begin with. (Anitvirus/Firewall... etc)
Overall Evaluation: I have used on three other systems and have been surprised on the additional items it finds even while running paid versions of Norton, McAfee and AVG.

Weaknesses: not translation is vietnamese and chinese
Overall Evaluation: i use many times week on 3 pc plus for friend and i like for free. hard to not have it after this time!

Strengths: This is a really good program for elminating the spyware from my systems! It is free, easy to use, and it works!
Weaknesses: For a free program there aren't any obvious weaknesses. I'm not keen on the spyguy logo :) but otherwise I just love it.
Overall Evaluation: I found this program after searching forums for a problem I was having when nothing else would work. This fixed it, and I have trusted it with other problems and it has never failed me.

Strengths: It weeds out alot of the threats that other antispyware programs dont. It has a smallfootprint and the full scanning engine is the same in the FREE as it is in the Pro version. It's quick to install and the updates are very fast to download. What I really love is that there are at a minimum of 1 definition release a day, if not more.
Weaknesses: They are no weaknesses that I have found
Overall Evaluation: 22 years of computers and I would recommend this software to your typical home user, business IT Pro, any tech shops that want a great FREE antispyware solution.

Strengths: Excellent detection and removal of the most difficult malware including rootkits. Great support from the developer.
Weaknesses: Sometimes misses "easy" or basic adware and other items detected by other products.
Overall Evaluation: This is a fantastic product. I've used both the free and pro versions of Super AntiSpyware to clean up many PCs in my shop. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anybody if they are interested in fixing a PC that is infected with malware.

Strengths: A verry strong program,removies all spyware + trogens and rootkits missed by Norten and other leading programs.
Weaknesses: I found no9 weakness in this program,but then I was running full program.

Strengths: Pro edition under $30, has a 30-day trial. Downloads fast, sets up easily, disabled or removed easily, real-time protection doesn't seem to slow down computer, traps even changes to browser settings, all trojans, malware, virus. Registration a short 3-part number, and can't be typed in a a clean download anytime you need to re-install if you get a new computer. Virus updates are daily, install automatically, with software update monthly. Usually for $10 extra, you get free lifetime subscription to all updates. Simple, clean, dependable.
Weaknesses: 30 year IT professional, specializing in security. After installing on 50 client computers in variety of settings over 2 years, I haven't found any weaknesses.
Overall Evaluation: Also use this to 'clean' client computers of malware their high-priced antivirus software allowed through and didn't detect. I even installed this in a web-cafe that had chronic problems from public users, and the problems stopped. That was 18 ago. Perhaps the "free home version" is different. But then, you get what you pay for! (I don't sell this software or have any connection with the company.)

Overall Evaluation: The download link is supposed to go to SUPERAntiSpyware. It does not. Each of the three times I have used the link it has taken me to PCTools and tried to download an entirely different software. PCWorld, you are getting worse by the day. You are no longer trustworthy.

Strengths: Excellent "on demand" scanner to back up your "real-time" anti-spyware/anti-adware protection.
Weaknesses: The free version does not offer real-time protection but the "Start with Windows" option is selected by default - deselect it.
Overall Evaluation: Excellent, free "on demand" anti-spyware/anti-adware tool to add to your arsenal for XP and Vista. Fast scans and excellent removal capabilities.

Strengths: None. Does have some good reviews? Guess some were able to find success with it.
Weaknesses: After installing it caused various freeze-ups on my computer. Other programs were hindered from running. I read a lot of the reviews prior to installing and did my research. Not new to using these free downloads. Was most disappointed with the entire experience. Too many other good products out there to mess around with something like this...for me anyway ! :) Would be curious to know if others encountered such problems? :(
Overall Evaluation: I downloaded it three different times and each time it caused the same problems. It was extremely had to remove. Add and remove in Control Panel didn't seem to do the trick. Repeated efforts had some success. Even then showed it was running on my computer, still causing problems. Search for remaining parts of the program turned up many, removed all of them. Still found remaining files up to two weeks by running different program analysis. This thing is like a plague, one you install it, if you can, you can't get rid of it. Try other products.

Strengths: Easy install, found PC MightyMax, and I didn't know it was there.
Weaknesses: Not sure if real time protection is enabled. It is checked on the context menu, but docs say that is only available in the Pro version.
Overall Evaluation: It seems to work as advertised. It found the install file for PC MightyMax, (which I suspect was placed there by Spyware Doctor - this is a one week old laptop). It removed that and some tracking cookies. Easy to use.

Strengths: Thorough exploration of drives. Finds malware missed by others.
Weaknesses: Runs OK from tray, but when enabled during initial start-up it makes boot up S-L-O-W and system may crash: as in, MS gives you up a 'dumpprep 0 -k' alert-box and you reply NO, then system may act like it has a driver-problem and begin 'reboot forever' mode.
Overall Evaluation: Very Good - but be careful.
