Duration of ownership: 14 Days
Strengths: Unlike some others, I wasn't asked to pay
Weaknesses: Deleted important parts of Windows XP registry
Overall Evaluation: Use at your own risk! I downloaded and installed this. Although my relatively new computer was working fast and perfectly, this found about 1,000 "registry errors." I'm not very experienced with computers and decided to click to allow all it found to be removed/repaired. Right away, for the first time this computer had problems, big ones. Could not maintain a connection to the Internet with more than a couple websites open. If I tried to save a webpage or download anything, the screen would completely freeze. Couldn't access Task Manager, mouse didn't work, the only option was press and hold the power button to turn the computer off. Each day it got worse. Even a Symantec restore didn't work. The only bright spot, I had a restore disc and Dell technical support, who guided me through a reformat of my hard drive and reinstallation of Windows. Since the reformat the computer is back to working fine and I will never again borrow trouble like that. Unless you are knowledgeable about the registry and can judge whether entries a cleaner finds are or are not safe to repair or remove, my advice is forget registry cleaners.

Strengths: Hardly Any
Weaknesses: Uses up many resources, does not fix problems and is not free.
Overall Evaluation: I think its safe to say that there are hardly any free registry cleaner tools out their that fix errors without demanding payment. After using this program I reverted to Reg Cure which has done wonders for my computer system in terms of performance and stability. Anyone looking for a quality registry cleaner tool should give it a try and download it at http://www.registrycure.info/

Strengths: none
Weaknesses: all of it, plus it's not really free
Overall Evaluation: This software is a piece of garbage. First, it's misleading claiming to be free when it isn't. Next, on my machine, I tried to use it and it froze up on me and I had to go into my task manager to shut it down. It's a good thing it did, I was silly enough to run it without double checking the errors, and found when I went back and looked that there were critical registry entries that it was about to delete. I promptly uninstalled this, I'll have to find something else.

Strengths: None

Overall Evaluation: Biggest piece of garbage I've ever seen. Once loaded, this "free" piece of junk demanded registration each time I started it. When I skipped registration and ran it, it removed critical portions of the Windows registry. PC World, get a clue!

Strengths: Don't know of any because I only scanned one time!
Weaknesses: First of all, the product lies to you when you are told it is free! It is not free! It will scan your PC and remove 15 errors and that is it. You have to purchase it to get all of your errors fixed!
Overall Evaluation: Misleading!

Strengths:
Weaknesses: Causes problems for some programs. Had to reinstall Webroot Spy Sweeper
Overall Evaluation: Only used once. It seemed to remove lots of unnecessary registry entries, but it also caused at least one program not to work. Now I don't know whether other programs may not work in the future, programs I have not yet tried.

Overall Evaluation: I hate lies. This product isn't free, it wont fix any problems unless you pay $15.

Strengths: Fast & efficient!
Weaknesses: None noted.
Overall Evaluation: Even though I check the Registry for leftovers after installing software, this cleaner found & removed over 1171 stray Registry entries! (XP reinstalled about 25 of them.) No ill effects were caused to my installed software. Excellent program!

Strengths: It's fast, doesn't mess up the Registry over time as do most Registry apps. It speeds up machine as well as browsing the internet. On a problem system of mine it found 1020 problems and fixed them immediately. It easily backs up changes so that with one click you can go back to where you were in the beginning if you do't like the results. I have not had to. Very Satisfied with this APP.
Weaknesses: None that I have found to date. I did note that it did add an icon to my Control Panel which I have not fully explored at this time.
Overall Evaluation: For a long time I have tested many Apps which claim to repair the registry. This one I found to be superior to all that I have tested. It is very straight forward, easy enough for even the beginner to use and seems to work with out a flaw. These folks seem to have really done their homework to say the least.

Strengths: It cleans what other softwares leave behined. After removing McAfee it found over 50 registry entries left behined. It is free.It does what it says it does. It has the option of cleaning the specific file.
Weaknesses: May be too confusing for some. But I think there is none
Overall Evaluation: Very good program. I had a hard time installing a program for my kid and after I gave up I decided to run Eusing. It found one corrupt file from the previous that was left behined. It has a restore option but I have not used it because it always cleaned the right problems. It is very good if you have to clean your registry use this one.The control it gives you is a plus, because if you have problem installing a program you just clean the entries associated with the program and leave the other ones alone. After 6 months on 4 computers I don't think I can say that it caused any problem

Strengths: Easy to use
Weaknesses: This software didn't appear to cause my PC any problems like others have reported. I only used it for a short while though... It Is supposedly a free programme, invites the user to register - then requests payment !
Overall Evaluation: Irrespective of what you'll read on the 'net cleaning the registry is not something that you need to to do very often - unless like me you're constantly installing and uninstalling software. If you do need a registry cleaner there are many better programmes out there, I use RegSeeker (which is free) & jv16 tho' the latter is not freeware. Neither of these have ever given me any problems

Strengths: It is easy to use
Weaknesses: It seems to delete certain program entries that are needed for those programs to run correctly.
Overall Evaluation: Not recommended. Attempted to use it several times and each time I had to restore the previous registry. It did not cause any harm to my system just to certain programs, AutoCad to name one where it destroyed all of the custom menu settings. I attempted to uncheck those entries referencing the Autocad program however it did not help. This program seems to use a broad stroke to kill unwanted or orphaned items and in doing so it will cause system disruption. Its lists are just to cryptic for the average user.
