Duration of ownership: 36 Months
Strengths: No verifiable limit to the number of files that can be handled by the database. Excellent user forums and support help.
Weaknesses: None
Overall Evaluation: I have used this program for over 3 years and couldn't be more pleased. I am a lifetime Gold user and consider this the very best program of its kind. This program is free if all you want are the basics. Even then, the basic functions are much more extensive than any competition. Actually, you will find that there is very little difference between the free and Gold versions. Don't listen to the grousers

Overall Evaluation: It's free, and for most uses you don't need the pay version. After 30 days (or before) you will need to replace the mp3 encoder with a different version, it's a simple task all you need to do is replace the lame_encoder.dll with another obtained from (other) sources.

Strengths: I'm a newbie but this program really imprved the sound of all the free music i've copied which has all sorts of varible bitrates and such.
Weaknesses: None that I know of especially for free.
Overall Evaluation: For the smart guys it might be lacking but I believe for straight music it beats real and wma

Overall Evaluation: i WAS going to download it but after readung the reviews i can see it's a waste of time. Why does P.C. World lie to us and say it's free??

Strengths: Potentially good program limited in use due to it being a lite version.
Weaknesses: Must pay for full version.
Overall Evaluation: Why does PC World endorse this program? It is a waste of time to download it using a dial up connection, only to find it is a crimped version, especially after PC World gives it the OK.

Strengths: Good all around media player.
Weaknesses: Not free but a lite version.
Overall Evaluation: Overall a good player but NOT free. This is only a lite version and to make full use of Media Monkey... guess what ... you have to purchase a licence. Too bad companies try and con you into thinking they have a free product. If Media Monkey told the truth I wold have purchased it becaiuse it is a GOOD program.
