Strengths: User Friendly and easy to keep updated. Works behind the scenes to keep your PC running like new! System Mechanic does not hog system resorces. I set mine to work automatic and I don't worry about my PC .Works great for Laptops too. It corrected several errors on my daughters laptop she uses for college.
Weaknesses: Have found none.
Overall Evaluation: I depend on this program a lot. I highly recommend it to anyone who counts on their computer.

Strengths: I like the automatic monitoring of my PC. The accuracy of the components are incredible. The software recognizes that I have Norton and does not try to over ride it. It keeps my registry clean and alerts me to any problems that may arise. I would never have a PC without installing System Mechanics. I also appreciate the fact that they offer a discount to add more time to your subscription. Many people think that once you download or install a program like this, you are set for ever. People don't understand the importance of keeping current with certain programs. Those who blame System Mechanic for their PC problems have other issues affecting it.
Weaknesses: There aren't any.
Overall Evaluation: Incredible program and I highly recommend it to anyone. My computer guru turned me on to this software over 10 years ago and I'm so glad he did. It's worth every penny you pay for it.

Overall Evaluation: WOW... after a few weeks of evaluating System Mechanic I had to upgrade to the purchased product. Why??? System Mechanic automatically maintains my computer. With their Active Care process everything is done. No more scheduling, it monitors my performance and fixes errors. I configure and control the automatic operations from the task pane. Some of the things it does... Cleans and repairs the registry , Defrags and compacts the registry, Streamlines Windows startup, Cleans out unneeded files, Repairs security vulnerabilities, Detects and repair hard drive errors, Defrags hard drives, Defrags the system's memory, and Backs up the registry. Due to lack of room you can go to their web site and see all the other things System Mechanic will do for you. I'm not a computer GEEK but these things make my system run without my intervention giving me more time to use my computer instead of maintaining it. That's why I have a computer. I also receive helpful PC tune-up articles in my email inbox from iolo and great customer service. And by no means least, the price is right. And for an added bonus, it covers all my computers at home. The product has worked very well and haven't noticed any issues with it.I had a previous version and this is so superior.

Overall Evaluation: I would (and DO) recommend System Mechanic as a valuable addition to any PC user's arsenal of helpful programs. I'm a 15-year PC Support Technician, and I've had my own computers since the mid '80's. In my experience, there is no better software available for system maintenance.

Strengths: Version 10 System Mechanic is the best so far~! Have used previous versions over a year. Some problems but customer service always helped to rectify. Simple to use All-in-One tool.
Weaknesses: Encountered problems installing when logged in to Windows VISTA as an assigned USER & NOT the ADMIN. NOTE:** Always be logged in as the ADMIN when installing new utilities ** Got it going after repeated tries & was satisfied with performance~~really increased speed.
Overall Evaluation: Although there are a few negative reviews, I must say my experience has been positive with IOLO as customer service always assisted me in getting their product up & running when issues developed. â Excellentâ utility which is mandatory to have if you desire high performance from your machine. I have version 10 installed on 2 Toshiba laptops with 2Ghz dual-core processors & 3 GB RAM internal memory & wireless broadband ISP & my browsing speed increased dramatically after letting version 10 go through the paces & repair. Really a superior & advanced product as compared to previous versions. I uploaded a short âºvideoâ review on several other websites since I was so thrilled with the improvements. I would recommend this utility to anyone. God bless & study your Bible.

I read the reviews and ads for System Mechanic and decided to give it a try. It is an amazing product. It does exactly what it says it will do without creating any other problems for your machine. My ten year old PC now runs like a spring chicken. It really delves into what slows your machine down and fixes it right the first time. I've in the past hired computer experts to come in and straighten things out. This program does all that and more. It's simple, to the point and does the job. Thank you for saving me the cost of a new PC.

Overall Evaluation: I think this is an excellent product. In the time I've been using System Mechanic it has gotten better and better and is as important to my PC use as my security system. I have never has a single problem with it. I think it is one of my best decisions. If you need an efficient, reliable product for a good price - this is it!

Overall Evaluation: Over the years I have been inticed to buy all kinds of utilities that would do wonders for my computer, only to find that the only things they did was to make my wallet thinner. In my honest opinion, System Mechanics has been the best money I have spent in years. I has so many things to improve your computer and it runs them so easily all I have to do is keep it updated. System Mechanic isn't rocket surgery. When you see what all it does for you and your computer, I think you will be thankful a program like this finally came out.

Strengths: It keeps your pc running smoothly, it fixes any problems you may have with hard drive errors and for system clutter. It can optmize and speed up internet connections. It fixes registry errors plus more. I would recommmend this product. I use this product all the time and my comp runs very smoothly and if I have a problem all I have to do is run System Mechanic and the program will fix the problem. I think this program is fantastic.
Weaknesses: So far I have not found any.
Overall Evaluation: Awesome program. I would strongly recommend this to anyone that has pc problems. I have used other ones but they cannot compare to this one. I feel it is a superiour program to use.

Strengths: I bought a well known registry cleaner approx. 4 months ago. One that was acttualy rated #1.It turned out that most of the features were just built-in Windows short cuts made to look as though it was really working, not hard to figure this out. I can't go into all the details, but if your looking to get your monies worth you need to invest in System Machanics. It does what they say, plus you get updates as they come availible. the other cleaner i mentioned earlier, is a piece of useless software taking up to much memory. With that said, download a trail, you be the judge
Weaknesses: As of yet, I've personally not found any.
Overall Evaluation: I have recommended System Mechaninc to all my P.C. friends, and showed them how well it works. Iolo should see a leap in their profits this quarter

Strengths: All the features it offers keep my XP based machine running really well. I've never had any issues with it, but most importantly, my PC feels 'alive', just like a new PC does. Nothing is sluggish.
Weaknesses: Not much. I would like to see a hard-drive free-space cleanser built-in to it and the "Duplicate File finder" is a little annoying as you have to click on each individual file in order to delete them, but that's a tiny irritation.
Overall Evaluation: I've been using System Mechanic v9 on my XP based system since late 2009 and it has been a God-send for it. (Asus P5W-DH mobo, Q6600, OCZ PC6400 2Gb DDR2, Samsung and Hitachi SATA 2 HD's). From the basic defragger to Internet and Registry optimisation, System Mechanic has all the tools to keep my PC running smoothly. Sure, you can run various tools individually which takes time, but System Mechanic can run all these automatically as well in the background via the ?Active Care? menu, meaning you can just leave it to keep you system in tip-top shape. I love the RAM defragger as well as the extensive hard-drive defragger, which sometimes takes a couple of hours! It cleans all internet traces securely, and has a built-in Recycle Bin & Desktop Cleaner to properly incinerate files & folders. You can use it to control the Background programs and services and it can optimise your Master File Table and registry on start-up. As a last resort, it'll create a CD to help recover a crashed system should you need it!!! All in all, it is brilliant. I love the interface and the features. I recommend to try it out at least. You won't be disappointed. There's one or two things I'd like to see added in the future, but maybe v10 will bring these on. Great stuff iolo Labs....keep it up!!!!! Neil. West Sussex, UK.

Overall Evaluation: System Mechanic is an amazing product and I defy anybody to say that their PC or laptop does not perform significantly better, once the software is installed and correctly configured. I like to think of myself as very computer literate but SM is able to do very quickly and automatically, the tasks I find tedious, ie, keeping the registry free of errors that can seriously slowdown your computer. Do not make the mistake of thinking that all the freeware available on the internet can do half of what SM can, quite simply, they can't! I have tried dozens over the years, both freeware and purchased software and none of them have come close to SM's performance. The fact that you get a FULLY FUNCTIONAL piece of software free for 30 days speaks volumes about the company and its products efficiency. One must also not forget to mention the brilliant, efficient and rapid response from Customer Support. My advice, quite simply is, 'Buy it, you won't regret it'.

Overall Evaluation: I have tried Norton, MCafee Kaspersky but found them complicated. System Mechanic has it all and they're easy to deal with when you need help. They answer your emails and help you in any way. Something I didn't need often, thanks to their excellent suite of tools.

Strengths: This is for System Mechanic PRO. Overall seemed to function and do its job. It was easy to use.
Weaknesses: My computer kept crashing to a blue screen when I worked on any type of photo files. System Mechanics Pro said it contained programming to avoid crases. I had no such crashes with AVG free or any other loaded freeware. I also did not find any marks on internet sites while searching that indicated a site was safe.
Overall Evaluation: I have an E-Machines 1331G with an AMD chip. As mentioned this program is supposed to avoid any crashes. It did not on my computer. I know of somebody using this in their Sony Vaio laptop without any problems. I reloaded my computer with AVG free and some utilites programs from the net. AVG puts a green checkmark on sites being searched on the internet. No problems from them.

Strengths: System Mechanic is THE most powerful and complete all-in-one maintenance suite available, period. I've tested several similar products, looking for one powerful enough to handle my PCs by itself and I must say: it is absolutely complete. In fact, it has more features than any other, but it's NOT that kind of "Jack of all trades but good at nothing", on the very contrary: it excels in every feature. To highlight just one feature or another would be unfair: the app delivers everything it promises, and on top of that is extremely light on resources and unintrusive: runs on the background and you don't even feel it. Worth every cent. As it wasn't enough, iolo's support staff is the best I've ever seen: extremely fast, polite and helpful: they effectively prove that they do really care for customers, and this THE most important aspect in my opinion; after all, I had my share of bad support in the past. I'll stick to System mechanic from now on, it is everything a user need.
Weaknesses: Well, I'm not sure if its uninstaller removes the registry entries of the programs it uninstalls; if so, it could point that out; if not, definitely it is something to be added in the future.
Overall Evaluation: I have tried almost, if not all the similar products in the past: I have to state that not only System Mechanic beats them all fair and square, but it has an excellent cost-benefit: while several competitors sell single PC licenses, for a similar price (and regularly offering promotional discounts - it pays off to visit iolo's site regularly) you can run System Mechanic on up to 3 machines. In other words: it has only pros. Two thumbs up, way up!

Strengths: I trust System Mechanic and I have used it for years. It helps keep my computer running at top performance. It's a registry cleaner - but it's a whole lot more too. It has a wasted disk space cleaner and an excellent de-frag utility. It can tune up your entire Windows System including a fast set-up of your internet settings. Weaknesses: Few and minor/if anyone has problems with this software they need to simply turn off the auto features after first reading the How to use this Software. Problem occur when using several firewalls and or more than one anti virus program as with any software.
Overall Evaluation: Iolo System Mechanic has been the most useful software I have found. For the past year, I have used it and to my delight, it has kept my computer tuned up and running like new. I had purchased the software through Dell but when my subscription ran out, I could not find it at Dell. I went to the source at iolo and purchased three licenses for the price I was paying for one. Anyone who is having issues with their computer, the blue screen of death, crazy errors that you canât seem to repair, slow performance and signs that your computer is near trashing, you need iolo System Mechanic. They now have an even better version and have added products such as Drive Scrubber and anti-virus products. You have to use these products to appreciate just how well they work and how easy they are to use. They asked if I would recommend their products â you bet. Overall Evaluation: I bought the boxed version of this software a year or two ago, and all it ever did was make my computer run worse and slow things down -- and mess things up -- and constantly want to run routines at startup that slowed me down. I eventually uninstalled it and chalked it up to experience. I recently had someone from a computer forum email me with similar problems with the software, and I recommended they do the same. I DON'T think PCWorld should be featuring this software in its emails (it REALLY makes it question the validity of your recommendations!)

Overall Evaluation: It is the best software for PC maintenance.

Strengths: Iolo System Mechanic. As I have no technical knowledge regarding pcâs it was my good luck that I stumbled upon Iolo System Mechanic. I gave it a try and was amazed how much my pcâs performance improved after System Mechanic had done its job. Fully automatic, it required no input from me and produced even better results than my pc engineer has done on its annual service and charged a fortune for. I was even more impressed with the price. Strengths: It seems to find more problems that are missed by my other utilities ,by using more then one system repair utility Iam either fixing all problems or creating new ones ,not sure yet system still running fine !
Weaknesses: It often mixes system settings preferance in its scan as something being wrong with PC ,its only a preferance of how you want your PC configured ! Version updates do not tell you what changes the update will make or abilities it will add ?
Overall Evaluation: This utility is probabltly one I could have done without and saved te $ for something else . I have freeware apps I downloaded that do as much or more at no charge ! Also I was under the assumption once I paid some $50 for app I would not have them picking my pocket every year to keep it running ,after all its not a multi function anti virus app like my Norton Utility/AntiVirus Suite ?

Overall Evaluation: Purchased an upgrade through a rebate offer and they denied my rebate. They are using a rebate scam to sell thier product. Unethical business practices should be rewarded with no sales and ver bad reviews regardless of what is being sold. The world needs ethics not more crooks.

Strengths: A Lot to be seen what it can do... Do it a little at a time there is so much it can do..40 you chose to use check up programs to look for sometihng wrong
Weaknesses: To tempting to use all 40 the operting system check up and protecting operations.
Overall Evaluation: I have had it for 2 years now, It is the computer new bee but be ware of using the auto fix it opetion in all the fix ing functions it has to offer to you It does a ton of things to say the least I have had other repair programs in my 15 years wiith computers and tthis one is one I will KEEP . Don't expect this or any program to do the work of a PC shop if you are haveing trouble already.. And do not click all 40 check protect your system lines as soon as you get it and DO NOT click any thing to do it automaticly or IT WILL SLOW your system down on boot up. It even E mails you if you to let you know how your boot scan if somtthing was found in need of your looking into And DO NOT have it do it next time automaticly cause some of the fixes need a re boot and then you will have a little trouble

Strengths: Performs some optimization, but not enough to put up with the problems.
Weaknesses: Too many to list. Most annoying for me: 1) a total system crash after one recent update of the program, 2) having to reenter license information almost every time the program updates, 3) not being able to enter my license information after the most recent update, because the program declared my license information invalid even though it is less than one year old, and 4) tech support is lame and doesn't appear to read the explanations: I don't need to be told to read an online help page when I tell them I've already followed those suggestions.
Overall Evaluation: This program is not worth the money. Version 6 worked fine and caused no problems, but when I upgraded to version 7, I began having so many problems, I have had to delete and reinstall the program at least 3 times. The program is not ready for prime time. My recommendation: DO NOT BUY it.

Weaknesses: I advise anyone AGAINST buying this product. I have v6 Pro and as soon as they came out with a new version, upgrades STOPPED. I don't mean upgrades to the program but also spyware and anti-virus updates. What good is an anti-spyware program if it isn't updated?
Overall Evaluation: A memory pig that does nothing that free programs don't do better. No updates once next version comes out.

Strengths: Not a blessed thing that I could find.
Weaknesses: Almost everything! It messed over too many legitimate programs and slowed the computer down to a standstill by tying up valuable resources. Tech support is rotten, blaming the trouble on other programs and not their own but once I removed it, voilâ, everything speeded up!
Overall Evaluation: I would not recommend this to anyone - in fact I'd warn them against trying it even it it was freeware. It seems that PC World is unable to find the time to actually adequately test software that it recommends. Makes one wonder if any of PC World's recommendations are valid.

Weaknesses: everything about this program is a problem and tech support will keep you coming and going for months-My mission is to stop their sales of this product-it is THAT bad!! Not only will you throw your money away on it-but you'll spend a great deal more trying to correct what it screwed up!!DON'T BUY IT-or even try it!! You'll be so sorry!
Overall Evaluation: It will find hundreds of problems on your computer!! It has a lovely element called "safety net" where you can reverse changes-Only it's odometer ALWAYS keeps track of NOTHING!! Made 500 changes to my registry-next time I ran it it said. "Run Registry optimizer"-NEVER BEEN RUN-if you try to reverse the 500 changes to your registry-it says"there are no actions to undo" What about those 500+ changes you just made to my registry?? huh??? You would have better results throwing your PC off of a tall building and "hoping" for a good result!! THAT is how bad this program is!!!
