Strengths: Nice collection of utilities in one package. Works well for on a computer with one user account. Very easy to use
Weaknesses: The Installation builds apps into Windows Explorer without permission.
Overall Evaluation: On the surface Glary Utilites apppears to be an impressive suite of utilities. The program installs quickly and easily. I tested all of the modules included in the program and found them extremely user friendly and efficient. I especially liked having the extensions built into the right-click menu. It is a supurb idea and made those functions especially convenient. However, I did not know that the program installed those functions in that fashion. I was not given access to any documentation with the install app which, to be honest, I may not have read anyway considering I got the file from PCWorld. To me, initially, this seemed to be a minor detail, however some people do get offended when a program installs things into something as important as Windows Explorer without at least a notification. Everything seemed to work supurbly on my personal account, however upon having need to do maintenence on one of the other user acounts on the same system I discovered that any time I tried to access the right click menu the system would overload, and the only thing that could be done was to log off the acount using task manager. I decided it was a software conflict and started uninstalling apps. Unfortunately, as soon as I uninstalled Glary utilities and rebooted the problem disappeared. In essence, this app includes some great ideas that appear to work great in some circumstances. However the presence of a bug of some sort really bummed me out. I was fairly excited about this app, with it's large collection of utilities in one package. I know that it's free, but I feel that this bug makes using the app very undesirable. I hope the author will fix it as soon as possible.

Strengths: Glary dumped TONS of garbage (?). It appeared to really clean out my system (Windows XP)
Weaknesses: It seems to have dumped more than it should have.
Overall Evaluation: VERY comfortable with my system, but FAR from a computer-tech guru, I can say that I'm really not sure what happened. In the days following my "clean-up", starting my computer began with one of those "blue screens" that appeared to be ticking down and dumping "physical memory". The message referred to possible solutions of checking my drivers, possibly contacting the manufacturers to update them, adding memory cache, and some other things I didn't understand. The first time this happened I simply restarted my machine and it worked fine. But I kept getting this "blue screen" at each subsequent startup. I finally accessed "system restore" and restored my computer to a point prior to the Glary "cleanup". I don't think I'll mess with it again.
