    Duration of ownership: 6 Months

Strengths: Does what it is designed to do and effortlessly.

Weaknesses: I would like to be able to determine in advance what type of selection and simply use a short cut to continue to make multiple selections.

    Overall Evaluation: Great and free

Strengths: super fast, configurable and easy to use

Weaknesses: wish it could capture to video format

Overall Evaluation: I even wrote up a quick review on my website www.thetechfirm.com

Strengths: Captured a partial screen quickly and save options allowed several formats. It seems to be free as advertised ... on the first day anyway.

Weaknesses: Took about 3 minutes to figure out how to capture a partial screen. Not bad.

Overall Evaluation: It works and it's free.

    Duration of ownership: 2 Weeks

Strengths: Find it easy to use in my business as a software trainer. Save capture to file and then email out to clients.

Weaknesses: Have not found a tool where can send direct to email - although only be using 2 weeks.

Overall Evaluation: Will continue to use software, as previously stated easy to use and like the option where can insert comments, and effects. Runs smoothly on Windows XP Pro.

Strengths: draws one to your site because the word "free" was used in review

Weaknesses: is not free as stated in review

Overall Evaluation: does not need to be a credibility issue for PcWorld magazine, but it is . . .could you please explain PcWorls's definition of the word "free"

Strengths: Being able to edit the capture is a great idea, if it worked.

Weaknesses: Difficult to use. You need to open the program in order to do a capture. A lot of the markups do not work. There are frequent "illegal operations".

Overall Evaluation: I was looking for a capture program that I can add annotations to. Some of them worked, but not all. I wasn't able to fiqure out the text within a ballon. The help was of no use. The program would periodically "need to close". I would not recommend this at this time. The idea behind it is great though.

    Strengths: Does what it says

Weaknesses: too bad it is not free like my pc world magazine represented in my paid subscription.

Overall Evaluation: Thinking about dumping pc world magazine, due to not fully evaluating this software & letting me know before I downloaded software & reading the liscense.

Strengths: Nice to be able to add annotations to the capture

Weaknesses: No support for dual monitor set-up. Will capture only on the primary screen. Drop-down menus appear on primary screen even if the app window has been moved to the second monitor. Help is basically non-existant. I could not figure out a way to actually enter text into one of the balloon thingys.

Overall Evaluation: If the shortcomings mentions above could be resolved then the ability to add the annotations would be enough to lead me to give up my current capture program and switch to this one. I'll play with it for another day or two, but I think it will end up being uninstalled due to the weaknesses listed.

Strengths: When I got it to run seemed to do capture OK.

Weaknesses: Would not open under Vista. Got it to open once. Seemed to capture OK. Couldn't get the other feartures to work like the insert words. Help no help. Finally figured out that to finish have to click Paste. When I went to delete what I just pasted, program crashed. Couldn't get to run. Finally uninstalled.

Overall Evaluation: Not ready for primetime under Vista.

Strengths: Intuitive interface. Works well in first use capturing pictures. Stores in any of several modes.

Weaknesses: Not much help built in, but see evaluation. License agreement mentions unspecified payment after trial period.

Overall Evaluation: Not a lot of help, but there are some on-line FAQ's. This isn't a big deal for my initial use because the interface is pretty intuitive. The license agreement mentions an unspecified payment after a trial period, but the website for the software lists it as "freeware." That's not a huge problem if the cost isn't exhorbitant; I don't mind paying for software that works as advertised. I've spent a good bit on programs that don't. I expect to use this program regularly and will add to my comments if I discover any big issues. (i posted a similar previous revue, but forgot to check rating.)

    Strengths:

Weaknesses: Failed to launch under restricted user.

Overall Evaluation: I removed from my PC due to the balloon messages never worked. Also application would only run in Admin mode only.
