    Strengths: none

Weaknesses: will freeze your system & stop it from starting

    Overall Evaluation: junk

    Duration of ownership: 17 Months

Strengths: Multiple layers of protection contained under the hood of one security suite.

Weaknesses: Uses Norman's AV. This AV does not have the "best" signature detection rates, however, eEye did not choose Norman for their signature detection rates (eEye realizes signature based AV solutions are slowly becoming a thing of the past when faced with today's threats). eEye chose Norman's AV because of its Sandboxing technology that is built into it. Through the use of a few custom APIs, eEye is able to hook into Norman's Sandbox and perform further code analysis that is not able to be done with other AV products.

Overall Evaluation: Outstanding product! Version 4.1 is now available: http://forums.eeye.com/forums/p/743/3180.aspx#3180

    Duration of ownership: 2 Weeks

Strengths: Appears to cover all aspects of Personal Computing Protection

Weaknesses: I haven't found any so far.

Overall Evaluation: I'm quite familiar with eEye, as I use Retina Security scanner at work. I was pleasantly suprised to find a basic version of this awesome utility included with Blink Personal. In response to Smoker's review, I would suggest that you log on to your system as 'administrator' to remove the product. If you do, you will see the uninstall in the main menu and also in add/remove programs. I sure hope you didn't reformat your harddrive!! ;) There are some negative posts on the forum, none of whi9ch I have experienced thus far. I'll keep you posted.

Strengths: I suppose it works well as I had no attack problems while it was installed although I remained using my usual protection apps.

Weaknesses: It doesn't leave a setting in Add/Remove Programs, has no uninstaller and CANNOT BE UNINSTALLED.

Overall Evaluation: Visit their support forum before giving Blink a tryout. You'll see many posts where the user is asking for help uninstalling and the Blink support personnel say, "Try this!," "Try that," jump through hoops. It's a resource hog that should never have been released. It's the worst app to get out of your system and so far the only way is to reformat your hard drive.
