Strengths: 1) Statistical Realism, 2) Variety of Managerial Choices, both in long-term player management (drafting, signing contracts, etc.) and game management (line-ups, rotations, etc.), 3) Most of All, fun community of like-minded simulation baseball adicts.
Weaknesses: A newbie needs a little patience to learn the basics of how to play. But there's lots of help available.
Overall Evaluation: Been playing for a decade. I remember playing the board game, All-Star Baseball, when I was a kid. Nostalgia Baseball takes the old board game into the 21st century. If you like baseball history and statistics, and would enjoy the mental challenge of testing your managerial skills against 23 other teams, then Nostalgia Baseball is the game for you.

Strengths: Anyone who appreciates the subtleties and strategies of baseball well-played will enjoy Nostalgia Baseball, which makes typical fantasy baseball seem plodding and two-dimensional by comparison. There's also a nice sense of community among owners, who share a love of baseball and its rich history.
Weaknesses: There is a learning curve for new owners, although that is being addressed through a helpful forum that connects owners to answer questions and provide advice. If you have an aversion to combing through player stats, this probably isn't the game for you.
Overall Evaluation: In my 10th or 12th season of Nostalgia Baseball, I'm still discovering new options that owners can take advantage of. It's the many layers of decision-making that make this an endlessly engaging game. You draft, trade & waive players, choose and change your lineup, pick your ballpark, set your ticket prices. You can draft and trade to assemble your own dream team of players from different eras. My team recently featured leadoff batter Willie Mays, followed by Alex Rodriguez, Frank Robinson, Mike Piazza and Jimmie Foxx. The workhorses on my pitching staff were Pedro Martinez and Cy Seymour, two guys whose careers began 100 years apart. Before NB, my teenaged son thought that Major League Baseball began with Roger Clemons and Ken Griffey, Jr. Now that he's been in NB for a few seasons (and is our league's reigning champion), heâll start a debate on the relative merits of Hack Wilson and Harmon Killebrew. It's been a great point of connection for the two of us.

Strengths: Very challenging, great friendships and rivalries, lots of seasoned owners to answer any and all questions you may have.
Weaknesses: Takes a little time to learn the ins and outs of the game
Overall Evaluation: I would recommend to anyone that loves baseball and is looking for something different than the pitch and hit types of games. I must warn you though, it is VERY addicting once you get started. I started playing my free evaluation time just to see what it was about, now I own 9 teams. There are different leagues you can join and I have a team in 9 different leagues. You can have 1 team if that is your desire but like I said, VERY addicting. Try it out, you won't be disappointed.
