Strengths: Gives you a report on your hard drives
Weaknesses: WARNING: HDTach is MALWARE/SPYWARE
Overall Evaluation: Installed and ran the program for a HD report and closed it. Fortunately, my HD is extremely noisy and 30 minutes later when I got back to my PC I noticed the HD was churning like crazy. Found out there were two HDTach processes running in the background using 90% CPU time and the HD relentlessly. I don't know what it was trying to find on my hard disk but an honest program does not do this after you shut it down!!!

Strengths: Does what it claims and it is FREE! (Thanks guys) Uses only 4.9 MB memory while in use.
Weaknesses: Does not test CF cards.
Overall Evaluation: Installed to test USB thumb drive to use as a "Pocket Computer" per PC World article 5/08, pg 112. XP Pro system, no signature issue that other reviewer had (lotsa good stuff has "no valid" sigs. You really think PCWorld recommends malware?). Only works for Win 2000 & XP. Found out external USB drive is quite slow...

Strengths:
Weaknesses: No valid signature, so I wouldn't run it!
Overall Evaluation: If the program had a valid signature, then I would consider running it.

Strengths:
Weaknesses: The current version (3.0.4) will not run on any Windows Vista system.
Overall Evaluation: Successfully installed. On first execution the program advised me that it only runs on Windows 2000 and on Windows XP. The only available action then was to terminate the program.
