Strengths: Ease of use, daily updates for malware file
Weaknesses: Nothing significant
Overall Evaluation: A brillianr utility, you can use this alone, without any anti-virus suites-have not had an infection of any kind during time of useage. The negative reviews on this page must be from users who mistakenly download bogus imitators, i note there are a few with similar names that are in fact Malware portals! I suggest if used correctly there is not much else out there that beats it.

Strengths: Trial version found virus files and registry entries Vipre missed
Weaknesses: For most practical purposes, NO customer support. After a month with the trial version, which I had used jsut once, I bought paid version and can't get the service to install, so the program won't open. After three days both support e-mail and the support forums are ignoring me - except for a single curt response on the forum that told me to stick to the other post, and to read a bunch of instructions both posts clearly stated I already followed. I'm nearly ready to file complaint with Better Business Bureau.
Overall Evaluation: The best anti-virus program in the world is useless when the company doesn't back it up through customer support, and the staff at this company are rude into the bargain.

Strengths: Unknown. Never able to execute registered version in XP Pro.
Weaknesses: After purchase & registration, system refused to boot 'Normal' had to boot in Safe Mode. No desktop applications would execute.Had to use System Restore Point to restore and boot in order to uninstall Malwarebytes.
Overall Evaluation: Very poor. When contacted support I was advised that my requested refund moght be "pro-rated" based on length of 'ownership and use time'. I do not recommend this product. I am retired system programmer/developer. "This dog does not hunt."

Strengths: I prefer the, if its free, its for me version. I have found it to be a very reliable program in saving several infected systems I have worked on. It scans in less then 20 minutes usually and generally will find the threat.
Weaknesses: No anti-spyware program should be alone, find a partner. SpyBot is another free, reliable program.
Overall Evaluation: My favorite Malware Removal tool. Quick, Easy, and Effective.

Strengths: Able to detect some of the latest rogue products before other programs have added the detection. Scanning is faster than most other programs. As a added removal tool, it is a decent program. As a full Anti-Malware product, the detection is very poor.
Weaknesses: Not a FULL Anti-Malware product as advertised, doesn't detect most viruses in the wild, spyware detection is also limited. Lacks delete malware on reboot and right click scan features.
Overall Evaluation: The developer of this program is still a young school boy and they only have a few members of their team, they are not a company. This young guy doesn't know how to put his product in the right category which should be malware removal tool, not a full Anti-Malware product. If the product was listed in the correct category then I would give it a very good ratings, but it only gets a fair ratings since it doesn't do what it is advertised to do.

Strengths: ease of use
Weaknesses: I ran AVG found nothing. Tried anti-malware and it found two trojans and a trojan downloader.Closed anti-malware,ran AVG again and found the same trojans and downloader. Used AVG to clear the trojans and a reg cleaner to dump the downloader then dumped the anti-malware as assumed it to be the source of the trojans.
Overall Evaluation: Will not try again

Strengths: Extremely aggressive "detection" - finds lots of "malware" that mainstream products (Symantec, McAfee) do not.
Weaknesses: Many, many false positives, or detections that aren't legitimately malicious. Detects .REG files, freshly-compiled in-house programs, and other clean files as threats. Doesn't clean Vundo, fake AV ("Antivirus XP 2008"), etc. any better than other products.
Overall Evaluation: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is the boy who called wolf. If you get excited every time your AV product catches a so-called "threat," this is your kind of product. If you actually have to get some work done and don't have time to spend half your day chasing false positives, steer clear.

Weaknesses: None.
Overall Evaluation: Great. Highly recommend it. Make sure you download an up-to-date version. Visit Malwarebytes.com. They just released a version to help get rid of VUNDO.

Strengths: Updated on almost a daily basis..
Weaknesses: Advertisement... I've never heard of it until i got infected and was referred to this software from a support site.
Overall Evaluation: It is very thorough, although nothing is 100%. I did encounter some infections that it was not able to delete and another that made the Malwarebytes quit working. However; after posting in their forums, within 24 hours, I had a solution to the infections.. 2 hours later, my pc was clean and running smooth again.. I trust this software more than Mcaffe, and Nortons.. Keep up the good job Malwarebytes Corporation!!!

Strengths: It's easy to run and fairly effective. I had a VUNDO infection 1 week ago. Other antivirus programs reported no infected files. Malwarebytes found and fixed 36 files.
Weaknesses: It didn't completely eliminate VUNDO (2 Registry keys remain infected, which Malwarebytes reports eliminating, but they keep reappearing).
Overall Evaluation: It was useful--removed a block on my automatic Windows Update, but didn't completely remove VUNDO.
