  Strengths: NIS 2010 is easy to install, light on PC resources, and has a very small footprint. This is a set-and-forget product.

  Weaknesses: Being a set-and-forget protection program may give the feel that NIS 2010 is more for novice users because of the initial lack of security alerts. Further, Norton has had a reputation from many people of being 'bloatware' due to its slowing down of PC performance with pre-2009 versions of the software.

  Overall Evaluation: NIS 2010 is an amazing product from Norton that has been completely redone. Don't stereotype this version of Norton as bloatware. It is far from it. NIS 2010 offers a range of highly redone and improved features. Power users will find the protection settings to their liking as they will be able to transition NIS from a set-and-forget state to giving full control. Likewise, one may control the amount of alerts received.

  Weaknesses: Blocks some software installations,no warning system.

  Overall Evaluation: Overall very good security lots of features,lots of updates,cannot complain.

  Strengths: Is real light on the processor usage, runs in the background without interfering.

  Weaknesses: sometimes won't let you install or download new software. But You can by turning off the Sonar until installation is complete and turn Sonar back on.

  Overall Evaluation: I've used just about all the other Internet Security packs and Norton 2010 comes out on top. I've been using Norton Firewall packs for over 10 yrs. and this version is really superior.

  Strengths: Windows 7 compatible. Simple installation. NIS 2010 is making all the decisions for you Wont slow your computer down like other Internet Security suites.

  Weaknesses: Cannot create rules or customized Norton firewall anymore. Firewall will never alarm/warned you of anything. SONAR will not let you install new software from many companies. It will delete the installation program without asking you first.

  Overall Evaluation: NIS 2010 may be good for novice. It has its own mind and it will prevent you to install new programs. SONAR has bugs and need to be fixed. I have to uninstall NIS 2010 to install new programs.

  Overall Evaluation: I have purchased norton products especially NIS since 2004. Last year I decided to install kaspersky but what a wrong decision! I updated the software manually for 365 days. They had very odd and rudish customer support! So, the issue remained unsolved for 365 days. I installed NIS on my pc again and my overall evalution absolutely is positive about symantec.

  Strengths: It scanned 2 of hacktool I accidentally found in my CDrom. It also protected my PC without slowing it down. Easy 2 use, light, fast in scanning, and speedy in updating. What I most favourite is the background tasks...You don't have 2 do anything, NIS 2009 will do everything 2 you!!

  Weaknesses: None found nor detected'

  Overall Evaluation: A perfect antivirus. You only need a tune-up software 2 keep ur PC up, and u'll get an ultimate PC or Notebook ever' Trust me, it's not slowing u down, unlike the former series of Norton antivirus' Recommended 2 everyone'
