Overall Evaluation: PC World should have never recommended this app., or clearly labeled it for Newbies.

Overall Evaluation: not worth the time it took to download, install and uninstall PC World editors/reviewers should be hogtied to a fireant pit for wasting my time. This program might have worked "back-in-the-day"...but today all Intel and AMD compatible mobo's have utilities for monitoring them so as I suspected this was going to be a waste of time, just thought I'd save somebody else the time,,,don't bother with it.

Weaknesses: The program has been discontinued for five years, and is unsupported. I do not understand why PCWorld is recommending it.
Overall Evaluation: Couldn't get it to recognize my motherboard (it is not in the list, since my PC is old, but newer than the program)

Strengths: It does a great job at monitoring various system components, including temps and fan speeds.
Weaknesses: It is no longer supported and cannot measure temps on some of today's newer boards and CPUs.
Overall Evaluation: This is a great piece of software. Also, don't be worried by bbeth's post below (or above, whatever). Software cannot cause a hardware failure. Her harddrive failed, it happens; don't blame it on good software. I do recommend it if you have an old board, like my ABIT AI7 or something similar with an Intel socket 478 Prescott processor. I used it to help me get a good heatsink and keep the temperature in a safe range that won't harm my $200 chip.

Strengths: If you have been longing to have your hard-drive hosed up, this product is for you!!!
Weaknesses: THINK TWICE BEFORE DOWNLOADING!!! My HP would not reboot immediately after installing this program. I could not find the issue (because I couldn't get past the first boot screen), so it is in the repair shop now. They have said the drive is bad, and they are not able to recover my data. This program has caused me BIG problems.
Overall Evaluation: DOWNLOAD O N L Y if you have first backed up ALL of your data up. Further, I would not recommend this product for novices-Even with the intermediate computer knowledge I have, I am still now unable to resolve the problems Motherboard Monitor has created.

Strengths: Comprehensive monitoring.
Weaknesses: As others have said, no support or development but no one suggests an alternatibe!
Overall Evaluation: Works fine with my old Athlon 1.1Ghz machine. Came into its own when I started to have fan problems and helped identify which one to replace.

Weaknesses: No support,at least i tried to link in the menu,but it redirect to a unknown not aproved website as my spyware recommeded..
Overall Evaluation: Is good for general information about motherboards,however in the editor review is not mention that some motherboards can,t be found on the setting.Theinterface is fair and with some practice it culd be better.Remember no support available.s

Strengths: Motherboard Monitor is an excellent tool for keeping tabs on the vital signs of your computer's internals. It does an excellent job of reporting these statistics, provided by the sensors already on the motherboard, and does a particularly good job with SCSI HDD temp. sensors!
Weaknesses: Development has ceased, and it may not work propperly with newer motherboards.
Overall Evaluation: If you run a high performance workstation, particularly an older one, like I do (circa 2002) then this is the best program I have ever tried, it displays vital statistics in an easily configurable dashboard.

Strengths: This is an excellent program however, since I could not find a motherboard number on my computer, I couldn't utlize the installation. Darn it!

Weaknesses: It disables your computer!
Overall Evaluation: DO NOT DOWNLOAD!! I ran this and my monitor when black and could not get the computer to reboot. I could not even get the CD drives to open. After letting the computer get cold, I was able to bootup just long enough to restore back to an earlier date. But this was after wasting 2 hours with a Dell tech.
