    Duration of ownership: 10 Months

Strengths: It makes images, like all the rest of them.

Weaknesses: Predatory business practices - stay away

Overall Evaluation: After trying out the free version, I purchased the bundle, which includes restore anywhere feature to disimilar hardware. I found out after purchase it was not ready yet for Windows 2008 Server. 10 months later, they support Windows 2008 to dissimilar hardware, but they are calling it a major release, and want me to repurchase the software. It started out 10 mos ago as a $89 product, and they have now doubled the price. The "Upgrade" is now $89. I have not had the product but for 10 mos, and they will not give me a free upgrade. I never used the stuff, as it was not ready for Server 2008. I feel that I have been hoodwinkled by this greedy company. They give the desktop away and thats fine, but evidently they don' care about their PAYING customers. I got my Image for Windows by Terrabyte unlimited 2 years ago, and when I checked them out, I was given the update to latest release, which supports restore anywhere under WinPE boot disk and all is good. I paid $40 two years ago for the perputal license from Image for Windows, and their business practices are far superior to these chislers.

Strengths: It works. It's simple and it is free!

    Weaknesses: None

Overall Evaluation: I own many backup programs. The only one I found to be only slightly better is Seagate's BlackArmorBackup. But that's not free. This software has saved my data thru incompatable or incorrect driver installs,Virus infections and other things that remain a mystery to me still. That's the beauty of this software. You can screw up and it will save yoiur butt. And for free no less.

    Duration of ownership: 2 Years

    Strengths: simplicity of use

Weaknesses: none from a personal basis

Overall Evaluation: This simple to use (and free) has saved my a-- on several occasions. I have used it personally for about 2 years without any problems and have been installing it on client machines (non-commercial) for the last year with no problems. The ghosted images have saved three machines from disaster due to weather or operator ERROR. Excellent program, highly recommend.

    Duration of ownership: 2 Years

Strengths: easy to use- remember to change name of img. to something you can remember and store on an external HD. AND DON'T BURY IT IN FOLDERS. SECOND BURN LINUX BOOT CD (COMPATIBILITY MODE). NEXT MAKE IMAGE OF HD C: I I AM ASUMMING- AFTER ALL THAT IS DONE , BOOT OFF BURNT LINUX RESUCE DISK, FOLLOW TREE TILL YOU SEE WHERE YOUR IMG. IS THAN JUST ANSWER A FEW SIMPLE QEUSTIONS, AND POOF YOUR ON YOUR WAY. NEVER ONCE HAS THIS PROGRQM EVER FAILED ME. NOT ONCE IN OVER 200 INSTALLS. SINCE VISTA TO 7 ULT.

Weaknesses: WOULD LIKE TO SEE TIGHTER INTERGRATION WITH WINDOWS BACK-UP.

Overall Evaluation: EASY FOR NOVICE AND POWER USER ALMOST PERFECT.

    Duration of ownership: 1 Days

    Strengths:

    Weaknesses:

Overall Evaluation: Completed a 7 DVD image backup of my C drive that was reported successful. Also burned a rescue disk and attempted to restore image via rescue disk bootup. The restore wizard could not read any data on my DVD. Same zero luck trying to run the Restore Wizard from within the basic program through Windows. I may try an external drive to see if it works on this medium. Would like to hear how others fare using DVDs.

    Duration of ownership: 0 Months

Strengths: Easy to use and install. Performs Fast Backups.

Weaknesses: 1. After restoring from the image file, I could not-find any restored files on the hard drive. 2. I conclude that the “Restore” failed; 3. I DID-NOT-DISPROVE the (Dec-31-2008) claim that you cannot restore with “FREE” version.

Overall Evaluation: Thinking to switch to Paragon backup & recovery free edition (does anybody tried it before?) or finally, purchase ATI...
