  Duration of ownership: 26 Months

  Strengths: Extremely good at recovering files and folders under a variety of scenarios.

  Weaknesses: None that I've encountered.

  Overall Evaluation: I've used Active@File Recovery on three occasions over the years and each time it was able to retrieve most of the missing files. The last time, for an impatient co-worker, was the real challenge. He had rebooted his PC when XP didn't respond fast enough for him. He had blown away the file allocation table and didn't have a backup of the hard disk. AFR recovered 95% of his lost files. Its well worth the $35 cost to register the app.
