In the Windows world, Microsoft Word reigns supreme over all other word processors. Its competitors have been relegated to also-ran status for several years now. But that doesn't mean Word is the friendliest program of all time: It's powerful, but with that power comes complexity--and some downright perplexing problems. Throughout 12 years of writing tips and answering questions about Word, I've noticed that some of the same questions crop up version after version. This FAQ is designed to provide the answers to the questions I see most often. Unless otherwise noted, all the answers apply to Word 97 and 2000.
