Msconfig for Windows 2000 and 95
Windows 98 and Me have a wonderful tool for controlling which programs load automatically when you boot: Msconfig. But if you use Windows 95 or 2000, you're out of luck.
To get Msconfig-like features that work with those OSs, try Mike Lin's free substitute, the Startup Control Panel. You can obtain it from PCWorld.com's Downloads and from the designer
One version installs into Windows' Control Panel; the other, an executable file (.exe), runs on its own. The program also does tricks that exceed Msconfig's abilities, such as letting you set something to run only at the next boot.
