AMD is continuing to drive technology leadership by introducing another computing first: multi-core technology for the x86-based computing market. Dual-core AMD Opteron processors for servers and workstations extend AMDs Direct Connect Architecture by connecting two CPUs on one die, improving overall system performance and efficiency. This Opteron model 885 is a 2.6GHz processor with a 2MB L2 cache, HyperTransport Technology Speed of 1GHz and Socket 940.
