The new IBM 16/4 Token-Ring CardBus Adapter offers blazing CardBus performance for mobile PC users on Token-Ring networks. This 32-bit PC Card is designed to meet the throughput demands of the latest powerful notebook PCs and operating environments. The adapter offers an outstanding combination of performance, low power consumption, and leading manageability features. Installation is quick and easy, and the card is backed by IBM's 7x24 HelpCenter support and limited lifetime warranty. The new adapter is based on IBM's latest-generation chip technology and has a 32-bit PCI-based CardBus system interface, which enables higher throughput than on older cards with a 16-bit PCMCIA interface. The card is designed for very low power consumption, with no power drawn when the cable is disconnected from the card, extending battery life in the laptop. The adapter offers manageability functions that enable efficient management of large PC installations. It ships with a Tivoli Management Agent and supports SNMP management and DMI 2.0 instrumentation, enabling system management with the leading applications. The IBM 16/4 Token-Ring CardBus Adapter has been developed and tested to work in the latest IBM and non-IBM mobile systems. It supports the latest versions of all major operating environments, including Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows 98 and 95, Novell NetWare, and OS/2. The adapter's device drivers also operate with the latest IBM Token-Ring PCI adapters, enabling a common driver to be deployed across desktop, server, and mobile platforms. The adapter complies with all relevant standard and certifications. It has the Microsoft PC99 logo, is Novell NetWare certified, complies with the CardBus and IEEE 802.5 Token-Ring specifications, and meets all required safety and emissions standards.
