Based on Intel 32nm process technology, the Intel Core processor features dual-core processing and Intel Hyper-Threading Technology (Intel HT) which enables simultaneous multi-threading to help boost performance for parallel, multi-threaded applications. The new 2-chip solution provides enhanced graphics performance compared to previous Intel platforms as the graphics engine is integrated with the CPU. The Memory Controller Hub has also been integrated into the CPU which contributes to faster performance and smaller overall platform footprints. Developers can create one board design and scale their product line with two different processors using the same socket. While incorporating advanced processor technology, these processors remain software-compatible with previous IA-32 architecture.
