The VanGuard 1111AML compound brightfield clinical microscope has a monocular viewing head fixed vertically at 45 degrees, 360-degree rotation capability, magnification ability of up to 1000X, and a 1.25 Abbe condenser with an iris diaphragm. This microscope, commonly used in clinical and basic research applications, enhances the resolution of an object or image with its compound, two-dimensional optical system. This microscope features Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN)-standard achromatic objective lenses, which correct for red and yellow chromatic aberrations. Adjustable resolution provides DIN-standard resolvant options of 4X, 10X, 40X, and 100X (oil immersed method). The unitâs optical system is fixed at 160 mm. It has a 20-watt, variable quartz halogen illumination with brightfield configuration which allows a specimen to absorb light for clear illumination. It has a 1.25 Abbe condenser for higher resolution, and an iris diaphragm to control light. The microscope has a 10X widefield eyepiece magnifier, which locks on to the unit for ease of operation, and provides 18 mm field distortion (FD). The square, chemical-resistant mechanical stage has drop-down, left-hand, rack and pinion X-Y controls. A removable, spring-clip slide holder mechanism provides specimen maneuverability. The microscope has coarse and fine focus control mechanisms, a focusing range of 40 mm, and focus tension adjustment. Safety auto-stops prevent unit damage. The forward-pitch nosepiece has secure, positive stops, and four rotation positions to support a range of magnification. The microscope has a stain-resistant and durable cast metal body with an enamel finish, and anti-skid rubber feet to prevent slipping. It comes with a clear diffusing filter, a blue filter, spare lamps and fuses, a dust cover, and an operation manual. The 1111AML microscope has five-year mechanical and optical warranties, and a one-year electrical warranty. Overall dimensions of the 1111AML are 370 x 195 x 150 mm (H x W x D). Its base dimensions are 195 x 150 mm (W x D), and its stage is 120 x 120 mm (W x D). Objectives are 100X (1.25 NA, 0.25 mm working distance [WD]), 0.18 mm field of vision [FOV]),10X (0.25 NA, 8.0 mm WD, 1.8 mm FOV), 40X (0.65 NA, 0.40 mm WD, 0.45 mm FOV), and 4X (0.10 NA, 17.0 mm WD, 4.5 mm FOV). The stage has a cross travel range of 60 x 25 mm. The microscope weighs 5.0 kg. It works with a 0.5A fuse (included) and 110-volt power source for illumination, and comes with a six-foot power cord.
