Strengths: Bright, great video and picture.Great music with headphones. Easy to use. Screen doesn't scratch easily.

Weaknesses: Must buy extra codecs ($20 each package) to watch DVDs. No handstrap. Speakers are OK.

Overall Evaluation: Bright video. Works great with avi, divx. vob files (from dvd) works but they're out of sync and freeze sometimes. Support mp3, wma, acc (most popular audio files). pdf files works well but slow. Stylus and finger touch is great but it is not excellent as iPhone. Web surfing is very well but it is not fast as a computer. Streaming wireless from computer works great too. File server (transfer files wireless from or to the Archos) works great. Easy to upgrade firmware. Battery lasts 3-4 hrs when watching video. It's a very great buy. I suggest Archos including 2 extra codecs packages in the machine. Also, $350-$400 is a good price.

Strengths: Great picture quality, easy to transfer to and from computer, touchscreen and menus are easy to use, and decent built in speakers.

Weaknesses: I wish the DVR stand, codecs and an extra battery were included. I haven't really had any trouble using this player.

Overall Evaluation: Despite what others have said about this player being bulky, I absolutely love this player. It is awesome to watch movies on or listen to music, or view photos and/or documents. It's also nice that if you don't have a program that will convert movies to another format,(.avi...etc.)you can drop vob files directly on the player and watch them. I have also found that it easy to upgrade firmware as well.I bought the DVR stand and an extra battery because I plan on taking this with me when I travel. The unit comes with cables and a remote control and a case. 80 gigs works well for me, I have at least 20 movies and a butt load of music and still have room. It is not a pocket player, but it's a real solid player and does not scratch easily.
