Reviewed by: Rdaneel2805-17-08 Duration of ownership: 1 Months Strengths: Very good protection, quick scanning, low use of system resources. Weaknesses: Expensive, $59.95 (download or CD)in 2008. Does not work with Zone Alarm Overall Evaluation: I downloaded the trial version. When I started the install, a window said I had to uninstall my copy of Zone Alarm Internet Suite. I decided to try it on my WindowsXP pc anyway. I found the suite to be somewhat of a resource hog and not be very user friendly. When I built my Vista machine, I decided to try just the antivirus product. During the install it I got the same request to uninstall my copy of Zone Alarm Internet Suite. What's up with that? Instead of working with ZA, they would rather have you purchase their firewall product or suite. Did anybody else have other problems with software compatibility? I don't like being forced to use certain software and I have never had this problem with any other software product I've used. How come no one at PC World noticed this problem? |

Reviewed by: vijer09-21-07 Duration of ownership: 1 Days Strengths: So far it has worked great on my system. I'll update this review after using the product awhile longer. Weaknesses: Training the firewall will make most people turn the product off. Overall Evaluation: If you want your computer secure Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 is a great product. But I wouldn't install it on any friends or family computers it just asks too much from the non technical user. The training mode for the firewall really can get tireing. Otherwise a great product. |

Reviewed by: mbformanski08-13-07 Duration of ownership: 1 Years Strengths: It is like a test lab that america and the russian federation have created to eliminate infection givers. Weaknesses: The new 7.0 version is a complex version of the 6.0. The only thing that sucks is training the program. If someone actually takes the time it is the most effective. Overall Evaluation: I think that later america might have a bigger terrorist threat on its hands. The makers of kaspersky are people that have computer science degrees. I am glad that America has this technology. I have a PC that I am trying to set up. I want it to be my second brain. If computer hackers keep violating peoples Local drives, then how can we ever take the stress of the human mind. Thanks Kaspersky! P.S.- If you don't like Kaspersky Lab, then try CA....I can easily say that any program that has automatic theft insurance, is cool with me |

Reviewed by: Dom235407-29-07 Duration of ownership: 1 Days Strengths: None they must have paid off the nitwit who wrote the original review. I made the mistake of signing up for emails from pcworld and I actually ordered the Internet security package, well PC ripped me off by letting me dl a ver of it that was over a year old and the activation code didn't work. This suite killed my computer, slowed it down as though it were a virus. I have a 3700 (754 socket) 2 gigs of memory Win XP Home, so that says something. My advice go to cnet.com these people don't work there. Weaknesses: PCWorld YOU SUCK Overall Evaluation: |

Reviewed by: nastone107-10-07 Duration of ownership: 1 Weeks Strengths: Great tool and works with Vista 64bit. Nice to have an anti-virus suite that works with 64bit Windows. Weaknesses: Must download most current version for it to work with Vista 64 bit. Older versions of 6.X can give install errors. Overall Evaluation: While a great product and it works fine with Vista 64bit Ultimate, I was a bit annoyed that I had to download the most current version of 6.X. The version I bought on disk gave me errors during install even though their site says compatible with 64bit Vista. Searching their support forum documented that it was partially compatible? Once I removed the disk install and installed the newest version from the web site it went well and is running fine. I am happy with it and its a great product. They just need to be clearer on compaitble issues. |

Reviewed by: bertly07-09-07 Duration of ownership: 2 Months Strengths: Catches most everything. Fast. Ease of use. It has put some of my freeware programs out of a job. Weaknesses: None so far. Overall Evaluation: I have used the paid verson of Norton and it was slow, other than that worked well. The paid version of Mc Afee caught fewer bugs than Kapersky and Norton but ran well. Kapersky is my favorite so far. |

Reviewed by: johnnygoodface07-04-07 Duration of ownership: 1 Days Strengths: None! (because it screwep up my PC) Weaknesses: Where to begin? Hmmm... Overall Evaluation: First I did a full scan using KAV's own remote scanner: no virus/spyware found! So my system "was" clean before installing the real thing. Then I completely removed Norton Anti-virus 2006 (with Symantec's removal tool). Rebooted then installed the trial version of Kaspersky Anti-virus. Then my nightmare began! First reboot after install went ok and fast but once at the desktop KAV started asking me what programs I should allow or not... I allowed everything. Then rebooted again. 1. Got stuck for ages at the login prompt 2. Had to reboot in Safe Mode to deactivate the KAV's protection option (can't remember the name of the option) 3. Reboot and was slow but could reach my desktop 4. Started to have multiple side effects: lost of drives in Explorer, made my system crash, everything was SO slow I could get a cup of cofee between each mouse click.. 5. Tried to remove it: it made my system crach!! ARRRRRRGG!! I had to use my last ghost to rebuild my C: drive... Oufff! How peacefull it suddenly got .... :) And please keep in mind that I've been a computer technician/consultant for 15 years!!. I'm not a beginner... Imagine poor old grany with that thing! That's a scary thought!!! Back to NAV! **** Johnny |

Reviewed by: wy0c0wb0y06-07-07 Duration of ownership: 1 Months Strengths: cant get far enough into the program to tell if it has any strengths Weaknesses: once installed, FROZE almost ALL windows startup programs that XP needed to work Overall Evaluation: Bought this program based solely on review by pcworld. BAD MISTAKE! Hopefully pcworld gor additional advertising revenue for its BEST Buy recommendation, because it will lose subsribers like me who bought this program on their recommendation, and then had to uninstall it in order to be able to use their computers. Installed according to instructions after first uninstalling AVG Professional (as required in order to install Kaspersky). Once installed, this program FROZE my computer( Dell m1710 w/windows xp). Disabled almost ALL windows startup programs to such an extent that XP couldn't get through its entire startup procedure. Uninstalled Kaspersky, shutdown and rebooted, back to normal. Reinstalled Kaspersky thinking that I had missed a step that would make sure that XP could boot, but ended up with the same result. Went to Kaspersky's website to see if I could find solution, but if you decide to purchase this program, I wish you good luck finding help on their website. What a joke!! So, thanks to pcworld, I am out 50 bucks and been forced to go back to AVG free in order to get some minimal protection for my computer. |

Reviewed by: dlauber05-25-07 Duration of ownership: 7 Months Strengths: Small footprint; does not slow down your computer Excellent responsive tech support Weaknesses: Anti-spam trained by only Outlook and Outlook Express emails, not Firefox or Opera Overall Evaluation: After years of frustration with Norton Systemworks, which includes Norton AntiVirus, I switched out computers to PC-Cillin. One year of that was enough as PC-Cillin produced buggy updates and its interface was confusing. But just a 30-day free trial of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6 (well, actually Kaspersky Internet Security 6) and we were hooked. Our computers all ran faster than under Norton or PC-Cillin -- in fact they are now completely Norton-free and much more stable. Kaspersky simply works and works well. But what has really impressed me is that it comes with a thorough printed manual; its tech support is based in Boston, MA, USA; and its tech people are responsive to your questions and suggestions. I've seen three of my suggestions incorporated into the latest free updates to Kaspersky. Version 7 should be out in July -- and if you have a current Version 6, you get a free upgrade. Simply the best tech support in the business. |

Reviewed by: ycomp04-24-07 Duration of ownership: 2 Years Strengths: just plain works. Weaknesses: none (compared to other programs) Overall Evaluation: Why does nobody mention that you can get this for free from AOL? www.activevirusshield.com I was hesitant at first because of AOL, but there are not spamming me (to my knowledge) and the program works just like the full Kaspersky... except that it only includes File and Mail anti-virus components. But those are all you need really. The AOL version is not as easy on the eyes as the Kaspersky version, but I think they do that just to perhaps persuade people to upgrade to the full Kaspersky. But you get used to it. It is great having an antivirus program that is always up-to-date, without any problems. |

Reviewed by: asb002Updated: 03-Oct-07 Strengths: Hourly updates, small footprint, high detection rate Weaknesses: None Overall Evaluation: Kaspersky is an excellent choice in security software. Unlike Norton or McAfee, Kaspersky's software maintains an effective scanner and hourly updates but doesn't suck up resources like its going out of style. The price is right, too. |

Reviewed by: cheapwoodsleyUpdated: 17-Sep-07 Strengths: kill viruses effectively Weaknesses: no weakness Overall Evaluation: This is the best anti-virus software so far. It is much better than Norton, McAfee, or Computer Associates. It can remove all viruses and it does not slow down your computer as all other sofwares do. |

Reviewed by: tomprcUpdated: 07-Sep-07 Strengths: Do not change your system that much as Norton. Do you slow your system that much like Norton Weaknesses: A bit too expensive in term of the price before rebates. Rebates are not reliable. Overall Evaluation: As a long time Norton user, I switched from Norton. I found Symantec is getting arrogant. The new version of Norton is getting fatter and unfriendly. They also decided not to support W2K at all. Anyway, Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 will not slow your system down so much. It will not invade your system and change everything that much. It can even support Win 98 -- unbelievable! Be careful of its rebates. People are getting rejected by allbates.com. |

And my computer still runs well with this anti-virus software. It is worth my money to buy this product.Almost all the virus can be handled by this product. Great product. |

Reviewed by: RobynM73Updated: 31-Aug-07 Strengths: Ease of installation, Price Weaknesses: None so far! Overall Evaluation: I have used other anti-virus software programs in recent years such as Norton Anti-Virus, Norton Internet Security, and McAfee. I was diligent with doing the updates for the virus protection software. Unfortunately, those programs did not protect my computer like the protection I am getting from this Kaspersky product. Initially I was reluctant to purchase the Kaspersky product because I had never heard of it. Online reviews at computer magazine websites assured me that it is a good product. The program installed easily with levels pre-established with virtually no "tweaking" required on my part. Kaspersky also does the updates automatically like the two other programs, but it does seem easier to use that the ones listed above. I would definitely buy this program again. In the end, it was less expensive than the major other brands who always seemed to be emailing me for more $$$. |
