Duration of ownership: 8 Months

Strengths: Compact size, x-raid technology

Weaknesses: none significant

Overall Evaluation: Netgear made some worthless NAS devices before purchasing Infrant Technologies. That purchase instantly made their NAS offerings legitimate. This unit is as small as a toaster but is very fast. So fast I wish it had another NIC. The X-RAID system automatically expands your storage up to 4TB (until bigger drives are available). As you add drives the system automatically reconfigures the RAID configuration. This is how NAS boxes should work. Handy display on the front tells you exactly how full the drives are. Works flawlessly in mixed OS environments. Now that the Duo is out most home users will gravitate to that unit. But if you have bigger storage needs, spend the extra bucks for this model.
