Strengths: Great use of VISTA-B, + integration of Thinkvantage suite, great form factor + weight, too many to list. With multiview screen-great pen feel and response. Trusted Platform MGMT-awesome, and effective as a standalone client-have not used this in an enterprise config.
Weaknesses: Screen could be more visible in daylight, lcd backlit would be great. However VERY clear and readable screen-enough real estate for XGA res.
Overall Evaluation: Regarding recent user reviews on the bezel "ungluing" I have noticed this during the summer under hot use. However, it was not a real issue. The seperation takes place where the tablet buttons are, and nothing seems to be at risk in failing/coming apart, unlike other tablets I have owned. I use the x61t ALL the time-every day, as a planner (Blackboard Backpack) and for other common purposes. The screen is VERY durable and unexpectedly, the machine fell directly onto my "shift nob" in my car from the dash-as a GPS device, and the screen was unscathed! The instant response and power management is a big plus and will keep avid inking users happy for awhile. A notable upgrade will be a SSD, which will only extend battery life and create ever more realistic experience. The ultra-dock is an optional device and I personally do not have one. I use the tablet sleeve (without the plastic cover) and it does a great job in integrating the device in my busy life without concern for it's welfare. You will not be dissapointed with the newest tablet-it is practical, reliable, and forward thinking. Besides the bezel adhesive (which returns to normal when the ambient temp is cool) I have not had any other issues. As a avid trackpad user, I welcome the "eraser" mouse. If this device had an SSD disk-it would be unstoppable. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Strengths: Intel's Santa Rosa platform which is desktop fast.
Weaknesses: Poorly developed and manufactured. Obvious cost cutting compared to pre Lenovo Thinkpads.
Overall Evaluation: My X61T developed a problem with the screen surround during the first 3 weeks of use. Look up "X61T bezel seperation" and you will see that it is a problem endemic to the X61T, not just my machine. Basically Lenovo used the wrong type of glue to stick the screen surround to the LCD and it comes unstuck as the LCD heats up. Unless you want to buy a machine you know will become faulty, sometimes within hours of use, stay clear, no matter what tempting discounts the Lenovo website may place in your way.
Lenovo ThinkPad X61t (Tablet) Review
- A tidy little 4.4-pound unit, the tablet version of Lenovo's ThinkPad X61 ultraportable lacks an integrated optical drive, but it has a great design, long battery life, and an easy-on, easy-off docking station. At $2333 (as of August 15, 2007), however, it's expensive.
