If you hate that touchpad mouse on your notebook but don't want to pack a regular mouse for the road, read on. Atek Electronics' $50 Super Mini Optical Mouse is just 1 inch wide and 2.5 inches long, comes in its own travel bag, plugs into a USB port, and requires no additional software. This two-button optical mouse requires little movement to navigate the cursor and works on any surface. The shipping version I tested performed well for short computing sessions. Its Lilliputian size, although travel-friendly, became ergonomically unfriendly with continued usage, but I still prefer it to some touchpads.
