Overall: After installing this crap I booted to runtime errors and windows installer running for about 10 minutes before booting finished. I uninstalled the program and windows booted normally. I reinstalled this crap before I started researching and finding all the havoc this has created for so many people. Forget about support. there isn't any. after the second installation and running the file shredder my free sick space which had been 75% became fragmented leaving only three pecent available. Window message advises 15% is necessary to complete a defrag. I have not been able to delete whatever it wrote to my hard drive. It seems my only alternative is to spend the best part of a day installing xp again and trying to recreate all my programs and favorites. DO NOT LET THIS PRODUCT PAST YOU FRONT DOOR.

Weaknesses: Media Errors, Loss of Data, Skipping Files and take a long time to work.

Overall: The BackUpPc software has many different company's that sale it, it is sold by, Roxio, Sonic, Stomp BackUp MyPC and Back up 2005 but they are all the same. I have download trails of all of the above software so i know that they are all the same. I use Stomp BackUp MyPC for 3 to 4 years. I hate to say it but reviews don't lie Stomp Back-Up MyPC just does not work that well, When I bout Stomp Back-Up MyPC, I realized it was not that good. I would use Stomp Back-Up MyPC to try to back up my hard drive and it would say media error, or when it did back up correct it would skip tons of files. I did a lot of reading and found out that it was skipping internet temporary files. I did not like that because if it skipped a 180 files, I had know way of knowing when it was just skipping a internet temporary file or if it was skipping important system files or something else. I learned how to turn off File skipping feature in Stomp Back-Up MyPC this help but it still would skip 1 file always. also when you wold restored the computer from the back up CD?s you made it would still have all of the old stuff, so if you had Buggy files, Virus, or old folder that were no longer need, they would still be there after a Full restore. To do a clean install with window 98 SE it was a easy process of just reformat the hard drive, then install your Back Up CD disk you made, with Window XP-Pro it was a nightmare because to format XP-Pro you would have to do a full install of XP-Pro to even be able to format the hard drive, and then you would have to go back, and then install all of the disk you had made, and there were 7 disk total, it felt like aerobics because every few minute you where changing disk for the next 2 hours. But with Win 98 SE, The Back up speed of this software took about 30 minute to restore 389 mega bits of data. The back up software I use now for making backs up of my hard drive is call Acronis True Image 9 and it works Perfect. I never get skipped files or media errors none at all. When I made my First Complete Back up of C: Drive it had 6 GB on it, and it only took 4 minutes to make it. I now wonted to test this back up image, so I boot the computer with the boot CD I made with acronis, then restored the image file in 4 minutes. so i checked it, it had restored the drive entirely without any issues! What a rewarding feeling!, I have tried placeing junk on the drive and when I restore a image file the junk is gone. Acronis formats and then reinstall the back up image file, now how smart is that a clean install. The Acronis Company also builds ALL of there own software so they strive for excellence and quality all around. Absolutely marvelous! Thank you Acronis True image 9 (plus Acronis lets you use a Boot CD, or Floppy's if you wont, I use the Boot CD, it is fast and Fun) I also tried the Norton Ghost 10, Free Trial, but it is more of a incremental and check point style of backing up sort a like window XP does and i really don't like that at all. Hay just go to Acronis website and try there 15 day trail it works with all features for 15 Days. you will love it and then you will buy it, you have nothing to lose at all a Free Demo. PS if you decide to buy Acronis True Image 9, I saw it at www.newegg.com for $29.99 as a download or as retail box for $34.00PS if you buy it, first uninstall the Trial version and then install the Full version you bout.

Overall: Instead of wasting money purchasing ANY Stompsoft produce, just throw your money in the street. IT WILL DO AS MUCH GOOD LAYING IN THE STREET. This product DOES NOT WORK. This product has been installed for 2 years AND HAS NEVER WORKED. This product SUCKS wind. DON'T waste your money. DON'T waste your time. DON'T purchase this product. IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT BUYING ANYTHING FROM STOMPSOFT, think again. NO SUPPORT. NO KNOWLEDGEBASE. NO HELP. NOTHING REDEEMING ABOUT THIS PRODUCT. Found out the hard way that THIS PRODUCT HAS NEVER CREATED A USABLE BACKUP IN THE 2 YEARS WE HAVE BEEN CHANGING TAPES. LOST ALL DATA, ALL FINANCIALS, ALL CUSTOMER CONTACTS, EVERYTHING.

Overall: Received runtime errors. After two attempts with online automated support (open ticket), I have never received a reply from them.Have uninstalled and purchased a competing product that supplies support.

Overall: I just installed Backup MyPC 6.0. It doesn't recognize the Peerless removable media that I have been using with the previous version of Backup MyPC. All of my previous backups are now useless. I cant restore either. MyPC 6.0 ruined my backup and restore process. DONT INSTALL Backup MyPC 6.0 IF YOU ARE USING AN IOMEGA PEERLESS REMOVABLE MEDIA. You wont be able to backup or restore. I submitted a request for help to StompSoft 3 weeks ago and have received no response yet.
