VisionTek Xtasy GeForce4 Ti 4600
VISIONTEK XTASY AGP 128MB GEFORCE4 TI4600 S-VIDEO/DVI/VGA (VisionTek-30001522) Review, by Alexandra Krasne May 22, 2002

WHAT'S HOT: A leading-edge graphics card, this Xtasy produced excellent details and shadows in Quake III and Unreal Tournament, along with textures that seemed to pop off the screen. Guns and other metal items looked extremely shiny in Unreal Tournament.
WHAT'S NOT: At $385, it's expensive. And since there aren't many games currently available that can use its 128MB of 650-MHz DDR SDRAM and full DirectX 8 hardware support, this is more power than most people need. The GeForce4 Ti 4400- and 4200-based cards are a better value.
WHAT ELSE: In addition to our usual tests, we tested this board in its Quincunx mode. Quincunx is an NVidia antialiasing technology. When the driver is set to Quincunx mode, the chip takes five samples of a given area and averages them together to make a clearer image. In this mode we saw explosions and fires with added depth and intensity in Unreal Tournament. Quake III was a bit jerky, however. At the highest resolutions running in Quincunx mode, most frame rates hovered near 60 frames per second (considered flicker-free, because human eyes can't detect problems at this rate).
UPSHOT: This card is geared toward gamers looking for top performance and speed--no matter the cost.

Strengths: this video card is a very good card and delivers very good graphics
Weaknesses: the card has no weaknesses that I have found runs well with all online games I have played including Never winter Nights
Overall: the only comments I have are the vision tek customer service is very poor. the card has a lifetime warranty and when it quit working i tried to get it fixed and since did not keep my material on it they do not honor the warranty.

Strengths: The paper box it came in was worth more than the card itself. Too much hype with no result
Weaknesses: It crashes with 3D games constantly. WIN XP, WIN ME, WIN2K OS-s has the same result!!!!
Overall: Tempting features, lousy execution. The card is so sensitive to several compatibility issues, it's not worth the headache trying to fix it. Starting with IRQ and ending with inefficient cooling fan. DO NOT buy this card, unless you're in need of lot of sleepless nights and frustrating wasted hours of work. VERY disappointed!!!!

Strengths: powerfull, tv/out, great visual display, very fast
Weaknesses: makes a loud noise, buzzing
Overall: a great choice. I saved a lot of money using amazon.com. They have free shipping, and a $50 mail-in-rebate, so it costs $269 w/shipping. Consider this card, i love it.

Strengths: Well basically everything this card puts out the best graphics and FPS to date!
Weaknesses: Price...and umm price...and price!
Overall: This card is great i mean its a great card if your a rich fool! luckily i had 30 days to return it! this card is everything you'll expect Just PLEASE make sure you got a cpu faster then 850 Mhz or this will bog down your system to where you'll be better off with a GeForce 2 or 3. The Price though! $299+tax is way to much for a graphics card so i returned it and bought an Xtasy GeForce 4 Ti 4200 for $130 offa ebay...wow that gives me $200+ to buy more ram or a freaking monitor =) I'll sum it up and say this card is only for Extremists that always need the best and need to brag to their friends if your like most people(Me) you should save yourself money and get a Ti4200 for around $175 online...it keeps up with the Ti4600 in FPS's on most games it only bogs down lower than the 4600 at really high resolutions! but im normal so i just use the common res! MY OPIONION: Get the Ti 4200 its about $200 cheaper and it runs the same as the 4600 i really cant tell the difference..since eyes cant tell the difference past like 60 fps as long as gaming stays above 50 fps on ALL games for 5 years down the line with this card it shall be all good!

Strengths: EVERYTHING
Weaknesses: none
Overall: Ok for all of you wondering weather to get the ati all in wonder 8500 or the geforece4 ti4600 here it is. If you got a good pc not just one of them average pcs that you buy from hp, compaq, dell, and gateway. I mean the real big boys like my amd athlon xp 2100 1.73 ghz, azza kt266a, 1024 mb pc 266 2100, 2 maxtor 80 gig 7200 rpm raid data striping, sound blaster audigy plat ex, not to mention my 40x12x40x plextor burner. I tested out the ti4600 and the radeon both on this pc and the ti blew the ati out of the water now I tested them both on my old hp p3 800 that had a ti500 before and didn't notice a difference from the two cards but the geforece4 lagged and was jumpy because the card it to much of a big boy for anything lower then 1 ghz. In my testing id say if you have anything lower then a 1 ghz go for the ati still good for your pc because if you go for the geforce4 your just going to get crap. But if you got a high end pc that can take it and then some all out spend the money you can get it for the low price of 284 just look you can find it cheap. Im out
