Strengths: none what so ever
Weaknesses: Doesn't work at all
Overall Evaluation: I first bought Drive Image 2002 and tried it with two of my machines, one with NT 4.0 and the other with XP. Both the PCs have the latest service packs. The software didn't work. I then bought Drive Image 4 and still, I was not able to even get started. It constantly erroed out and documentation was of no use either. I am not so much sorry for the money I put in it as much I am sorry for all the countless hours I wasted with the trust and hope that it will work. Well... it didn't. There are far too many choices now in the market to pick from. Do yourself a favor, don't pick this one. You will avoid yourself a lot of agony and frustration. Going to Powerquest.com now takes you to Symantec website and Symantec no longer supports this product. Go figure.

Strengths: Works, will save your system when trouble happens! Pretty easy to use software.
Weaknesses: Forces you to run in a DOS-like environment with boot disks.
Overall Evaluation: I have created backups and happy I have. It's saved my hard drive's partition containing XP Home on it a few times. It's an easy to use program, and works great. I store backups on cd-rw media, the rewriteable discs, not the one time use, at least not usually. It reads them fine. I've heard of media that it works crappy with. Well, SmartBuy cd-rws it does work. When specifying the location for the backups you might have to click on the cd-rw drive a few times. It works though and does it's job perfect. I've never had any problems with the program and I have had it for 2 years. I don't even care about upgrading to Drive Image 7, I've heard negative things about it anyhow. Drive Image 2002 is worth the money. It will save your OS's partition one day and you will be thankful for the program!
