Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Tiny, good picture (not great), features, ease of use
Weaknesses: picture is ok but not great, batteries only last a short time. Buy 2 batteries!
Overall Evaluation: I love the size and ease of use, the high price is a turn off, and with the picture only being good, not fantastic, i don't think its justified, but overall i would recommend it, I'd buy extra batteries though, wish I could tell at a glance if they were charged or not. Quick to change out tapes too, very nice.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Portability, It is smaller than some of the digital cameras. Its XGA still capability is a major plus point. Color balance on the still are excellent.
Weaknesses: Crammed ports on the unit. Though inevitable, the LCD is small.
Overall Evaluation: This is a unit that anyone can carry in their coat pocket and it is extremely flexible to get pictures and movies of action takin place anywhere. Except at extreme digital zooms, the camera is able to focus and adjust exposures on shots. The camera can get as close as 1 inch from a subject and the stills as well as movies are quite satisfactory. You will need a high end digicam to do this. Great for action catching reporters. XGA still make great picture cards. As far as shake-proofing is concerned I would rate it as below average. We have to be very steady handed and hence might restrict older people from using it. I am old fasioned and would have really prefered a native view finder rather than a LCD screen inside it. LCD screen is small but in 97% of the cases it is sufficient (of course it is not so good to check on playbacks). Amazing piece of equipment that has even permitted me to leave behind my 2.1 mp digital camera. Just got to hold the camcorder very steady to take the pictures or shift to sports-mode to pick on active subjects. This is a camera that would be in the technology forefront for many months to come... not easily outdated.
