Strengths: For DVD+R performance, it works okay. Works great for back up data or transfering data, but not video.
Weaknesses: First, only allows for writing to DVD+r or +RW. Second, there are compatiblity issues when using a USB 1.0. Third, way to bulky to carry. Fourth, software issues with DLA.
Overall: I've owned this for over 1 1/2 years and would not purchase it again. I built a desktop and used Sony's DRU 500; works like a charm.

Strengths: Nice Looking and External so I can use it with My Laptop.
Weaknesses: Buggy and software sucks.
Overall: This drive is not ready yet. It uses DLA to allow you to Drag and Drop and this never worked correctly. It has HP Memories Photo Album that was constantly trying to re-install itself.
