  Strengths: InexpensiveEasy to use.

  Weaknesses: Could have better design aesthetics.

  Overall: This remote is great for setting up a multimedia PC. Set up is very easy, and configuration is straightforward, with presets for many different applications pre-installed. Only very minor quibbles. The remote is very small About 2.5x2.5 inches, with no easily discernible facing, so sometimes I'll be inadvertently pointing the remote at myself and wondering why it's not working. Then I realize it's aimed at my gut and not the infrared sensor.

  Strengths: Small, lightweight. Not only controls presentations, but sound as well.

  Weaknesses: No laser. There is software that has to be installed.

  Overall: This remote is small and light weight. I purchased this remote for my classroom, to be used during my lectures when utilizing powerpoint. It not only can be used for this, but adjusting sound as well, which is neat. I also ordered the the other keyspan remote - Model PR-US2, I personally would recommend the US2 over this one - it is easier to hold and there is no software to install. The buttons are not confusing. I am a little confused on which buttons go with what with the media remote - I still need to play with it, I guess. I will probably have my students use the media remote with their presentations, and I will use the US2 for my lectures/presenations.

  Overall: I bought this remote so that I could watch movies in room on my laptop and don't need any mouse to fast forward, rewind, change volume or get to next chapter. It does all that with great ease. The mapper, which converts the button to various program functions, comes with many programs already stored. New programs can also be added. I added Intervideo WinDVD. However, you will have to use the manual to do that. It can be a slightly difficult for some, for the first time, but it is not rocket science. It is easier if you have the program running that you want to add the program. It is not that great if you want to use it as a mouse, butthen it is not supposed to be a mouse.

  Overall: i thought i might need one someday, i saw it on sale and bought itsoftware loaded easily and i have only used it a few times for powerpoint presentations without projection.. i have never been more than 10-15ft away from it and have not tested it from further away... and i know there is so many more uses available but i have yet to have the time to learn about themi would buy it again, i do not need a pointer

  Strengths: Easy to set up and use. CD contains PC and Mac drivers.

  Weaknesses: None worth mentioning.

  Overall: I am a Mac user who loves to rock the itunes. I had been looking for a way to control itunes remotely. I saw the Keyspan on sale for $20 so I jumped on it. It is easy to set up and the included CD has any driver support you might need. It uses arrows to move the cursor and has CD type remote buttons that are programable. The base also supports some JVC remotes.I wish the arrows responded to holding them down in addition to touch. Overall this is an inexpensive solution for a multimedia remote for a computer.
