HP PSC 2210
HP PSC 2210 All-in-One Review
- WHAT'S HOT: The HP PSC 2210 earned high scores for print and scan quality. The colors on the device's prints were generally realistic, though a bit dark in some places. Its scan quality was second only to that of the Brother MFC-4420C, but it outperformed that MFP in our print and copy tests. The PSC 2210 garnered the best quality scores in our 4-by-5 color and line-art scan tests. The PSC 2210 had the second-best overall scores in our text and line-art print tests. The sharp, easily readable documents it produced were second only to the HP LaserJet 3330mfp's output in overall quality.

Strengths: None
Weaknesses: Poor Mac integration, poorly engineered
Overall Evaluation: This was the last piece of junk I have bought from HP. The scanner frequently locked up when the unit was turned on, until eventually it quit working completely. The drivers were poorly written. It always, no matter the driver revision, would print extra blank pages from Excel, or would just stop printing mid-page. Finally this thing is slow. I could get a box of crayons out and render a drawing of my page quicker than this would print it.I currently own a Brother 5840CN, which works consistently and works well with the Mac OS. I strongly suggest you steer clear of this brand, especially if you are a Mac user.

Strengths: Great scans, nice prints, relatively quiet
Weaknesses: Tears paper, slow copies, expensive ink, included software
Overall Evaluation: I've had this printer for 4 months now and am not all that happy with it. Yes, it does produce nice prints, but it puts a little rip in the paper it prints them on. I've contacted HP support about this and did everything they suggested without any luck. It will also grab multiple sheets every once in a while. I do like the scan quality though. It's also nice having a copy feature although it is extremely slow. My other complaint is the same as with all other HP devices I've worked with: the included software is a resource hog. Fortunately it's tolerable with just the bare minimum installed. Overall I like the idea of having an all-in-one and will probably buy another one (from another company), but this one is a lemon.
