Weaknesses: Slighty confusing controls
Overall: I use my PC primarily for web browsing, image viewing/editing and office applications (with the occasional foray into games). So far I've had the S9500 for two weeks and I quite enjoy it. The first surprise was that this monitor is actually the same dimensions and weight as the 17" Mag I was replacing! It had a manufacture date of January 2004. The monitor is a very attractive two-tone black/silver, and is a great departure from the blase white monitors that get dingy over time. The HP logo is handsomely emblazoned above the screen. It would go great with either black or silver systems(my rig is silver). I like the image quality of this monitor a lot, though I admit I'm not particularly picky. Oddly the manual lists this monitor as having a .22 dot pitch despite the Pricegrabber description. I'm not complaining! There are only two very minor issues I have with the S9500: One issue is the controls, that while are adequate, take some getting used to. My Mag 17" had the simpler wheel based control. The other is that when the monitor shuts off and I turn it back on again, the picture shifts upward slightly by 4-6 pixels, a small but noticeable difference that can be adjusted easily enough. The s9500 fits my needs very nicely, and it's great if you want a bigger screen without a huge price tag, and have the desk space to support its girth. Overall, I think the S9500 is a great value, and I'd highly recommend it. I have no regrets.
