Strengths: price, quality, dlp, great picture
Weaknesses: so far none
Overall: I have had this for a year now (I always worrry about people who review things after 3 days). I have only logged about 500 hours on it, but so far it is great. They make them brighter but not for this price, so you may have to pull the shades down if you use it during the day, but no problems at night. I always wanted a big screen TV, but could never afford one. Now for under $600, I got one. The nice thing about this is that you can pack it up. I installed a pull down screen, so the home theater disappears when I have company at the house, unlike a huge TV that takes up half the room. And it's a 7ft screen. Find a TV like that anywhere. I rarely go to the movies anymore. Mine projector is as good as theirs, (if not better sometimes) Buy a projecor and if you do, I would buy this one. I know I will buy one again if I ever have to

Strengths: Easy to setup, drop down menu for picture adjustments, inexpensive compared to others.
Weaknesses: None yet!
Overall: I read so many reviews about this projector that I had to own one. To say the least, I am very well pleased with a $700.00 huge screen tv. I hooked everything up through my dvd player with component out and an adapter that you can purchase over the internet. Friends and family can't believe the picture quality from something this cheap. Viewing angle is far superior to a big screen tv. You can use both the 16:9 and 4:3 format on any video. Ambient light is a problem and viewing is best done in a dark room. I didn't see this as a problem since theatres are dark too. My screen is 110" diagonal at a 4:3 ratio and is perfect. Rainbow effect as some call it has never been a problem and my sons love playing ps2 on it.

Strengths: Good price, good picture, easy to use
Weaknesses: service sucks
Overall: Brought X1 last October. Use it for less than 20 hrs and it broke down. The service depot took 6 weeks to get parts from Infocus. Replaced ECA board & controller board. Set it up again for 10 minutes and the unit shut itself off. Either the X1 is no good or may be I got a piece of lemon. Either way, the service is still sucks....

Strengths: * Small and compact compared to a rear projector TV or even plasma* Price compared to alternatives* Ease of use*Flexibility
Weaknesses: Must have semi-dark to dark viewing area
Overall: Just received my unit and we truly love it. Because of an expiring rebate we purchased it before the official media room was completed. In the meantime I have quickly set up two home theaters. One is upstairs where we show movies after dark by running the included S-video to our existing surround sound system set up for our 36 inch TV. 1 table move and 2 plugins and we are able to watch a 7ft diagonal picture above the fireplace. Set up another in the basement using our backup stereo system and a painted piece of 4x8 foamboard tacked on the wall. Pictures on both surfaces are excellent. At ~ $800 after rebate I can't believe the quality and don't believe that 3x more expensive models could be 3x better. Other reviews mention a rainbow effect or screen door effect. We have been looking for it and have yet to see these aberrations.

Strengths: For the money, an exceptional bargain. Incredible picture quality
Weaknesses: None that I can think of
Overall: The idea of buying a projecter came after being discouraged by the high price of plasma/ LCD TV's. After noticing projectors in an electronics catalog, I came to Pricegrabber and found the X1. The reviews here really convinced me to check it out. This projector is GREAT! You will not believe the picture quality! DVD's on my progressive scan player through the component to computer adapter look fantastic just projecting them on a blank white wall, and the picture size is a whopping 7 feet or more! Even my VHS tapes look good! The X1 had everything I was looking for, DLP technology, 16:9 aspect ratio. I'm glad I came across the X1, I saved a bunch of money buying this instead of an inferior "big screen" TV
