Apple iPod 30GB MP3 Player (Apple-M8948LLA)

  Strengths: Holds ALOT of songs, and looks awesome!

  Weaknesses: can't find any.

  Overall: The iPod is THE coolest gadget around, and even my friends who hate macs (even though apple rocks!) love it. Its an awesome product and now they have miniiPods with COLOR.

  Overall: Piccadilly circus never had it so good. I'd tell all my buddies about this, but they're the one's who got me to buy it. So you should take it from me. Easy to use, fun to carry. Get one!

  Strengths: Good sound quality, large storage capacity, easy to use, 30 gig model comes with docking station and remote.

  Weaknesses: It's a hard drive it could fail and the warranty is not a strong one. Battery life has never been six hours. Best I get is 4 hours. Windows & Musicmatch is querky and weak

  Overall: I really like the unit. I had a Rio 500 and thought it was great but wanted a lot more storage. The IPOD has it. The sound quality is great. Touch pad is a little to sensitive but very easy to use. Displays are easy to read. I am concerned about hard drive failure though I have experienced no problems. Warranty is not a strength. I have a lot of problems with the windows interface. It does not find the unit many times and I have to reboot and try again. I'm not a fan of matchmaker, I prefer Realjukebox, I run a firewire and downloads are slow. The sync function doesn't sync every thing. ie if you change a id tag of a song downloaded it will not update it. Battery life is not as long as the claimed 6 hours. At best 4 hours. Overall I am very happy with it and still seems like the best out there if you want a ton of storage.

  Strengths: Signal to Noise is 100dB. Also look cool

  Weaknesses: Little too pricy, Windows upload speed is slow.

  Overall: If you have the JB Zen before, you will know that Zen have a lot of Noise due to it Signal to Noise is only around 98dB. But when I first got my iPod, I never hear that good quility music from a MP3 Player before. May be because iPod is 2dB more than JB Zen. (It is about 200 time different since dB is log scale.) It is very easy to use that I think they should not give me the remove control to save me may be 30 dollars. The new key that don't need you push it in, it is touch sensetive. Also, it allow you to choose what you want to display in your main meun. However, iPod isn't do well in files upload under windows XP. It take a long time to upload a song in MP3 320Kbs VBR to the iPod. I wish the new iTuner for windows will come out sooner that allow me to buy music on the web. Music Match Jukebox just don't cut it with iPod. Final word, if iPod support WMA format, we can kiss Creative Jukebox Zen good bye in the high end files player market. Although the new Zen offer 60Gb with USB 2.0 and 100 dollars less than the iPod 30Gb, Who need 60Gb for music and have that 98dB signal to noise problem ranging in your ear. By the way, the 30Gb come with the wired remove control with I still can't find the Creative JB Zen remove on the market. The JB Zen remove control is been back order since last year. (That is the other reason I don't like creative, they make you buy the JB Zen by saying that they will have the remover control in no time. Where is the remove control?)
